Which foods would you rather eat when drinking water?

I was wondering if there is any particular food that you like to eat during the day whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner in which you would rather drink water along with it. Or would you rather have something sweet to drink. In my case I realize that drinking cold water is good for my system and I should probably be drinking it more regularly throughout the day. However when I am eating breakfast I would rather have something hot like coffee even during the summer time. For lunch and dinner I would rather drink something sweet like tea or soda. I just like to have a sugary sensation for my taste buds to enjoy while eating my food. And in between meals I will reach for a glass of water to keep hydrated.

Well, I have also seen that lemonade or lemon water works well with some oily foods as well as foods like Pizza .

I didn't realize that about lemons. Well that is good to know. Although I thought that lemons were sort of acidic in their flavor. I love lemons though especially in icy cold water. Thanks for the input. Take care.

Thank you sweety for the response. I would also rather have some water with dry, salty foods. It might make it easier to digest. I like drinking icy cold water as opposed to lukewarm water. I also like to drink sweet things but I do realize the added benefits of taking in more water into my system on a regular basis. Sometimes those spicy foods can make you feel very thirsty. But I have actually heard that drinking milk with something that makes your mouth hot is a better idea. There are oils in some of those spicy foods and oil does not mix well with water.

Actually for me its not an effort or something. Since I was a child I loved water but I also loved soft drinks. But then I was taking too much and I decided to quit them. I really really feel so good when I drink water. Not only healthier but because its sort of my favourite drink, it might sounds funny. But the funny thing is that when I go to do a facial, do you know what they ask me? They ask me if drink water. Can you believe it? It didnt happen once. I tell them that water is practically all I drink everyday. I drink much more than we are supposed too since I dont drink nothing else. I have to say that I dont eat healthy foods although I drink water. But I am thinking about it and try to change somethings because my eating isnt healthy at all. But at least I can say that I am a water addict hehe.

Thank you for the response. I do believe that drinking plenty of water has a lot of benefits not only for the inside of our bodies but also the outside. It can do wonders for your skin. I believe it is probably because the water hydrates us and it can give our skin and our face the healthy glow it needs because of the water we are taking in. Our bodies are composed already of a certain amount of water but we can become dehydrated of course. I had heard once that when a person starts getting thirsty it is a sign of dehydration. That is why it is also probably a good idea to drink water during the day as often as possible. Take care.

I am not really a big water drinker although I know that I should be. So anything not too hot like soup, I don't mind drinking water with.

Thank you winterose for the reply. I am not a big water drinker either and I realize that I should drink a lot more of it. I can understand that drinking some cold water with hot soup might be a good idea. There just seem to be things that I like to eat with something sweet like iced tea or soda. It just seems more refreshing. During the summer I will reach for more ice water as it just seems to quench my thirst a lot better. Take care friend.

I've gotten so used to drinking just water that I don't want to have anything else. In fact, only water can quench my thirst, while sweet drinks make me thirstier. The only thing I drink regularly besides water is coffee in the morning and sometimes some tea in the afternoon when it's cold. I drink iced tea, too, but unsweetened. But I always have water with meals.

Thanks dragon for the response. I appreciate your views on the subject. There are some people that have been very used to just drinking water that they don't drink much else. I have a good friend that just drinks either hot tea or cold water. I would rather have something sweet to drink every now and again because it seems more refreshing to me. I think that drinking water with your meals shows that you realize that you need water to stay hydrated and healthy. Drinking water is basically more beneficial for us all and I am really trying to keep water in my regular diet. I also drink coffee in the morning usually caffeinated and decaffeinated mixed together because I am trying to cut back on too much caffeine in my diet. And even during the day I might drink something hot with sugar in it. Take care buddy.

Thank you Carolysom for the honest reply. Yes, water is good for us. That is good if you can manage to drink water with all of your meals along with several glasses of it during the day. I do try myself to drink more water in between meals but it is not always easy. It is true that it is a good defense against illness. Proper nutrition and exercise are also good things to consider along with the process of water intake each day. Take care friend.

I only drink water. I used to drink coke or something about I cut them down I think 3 or 4 years ago.Sometimes I drink a peach juice or milkshake when I go out or else I sometimes take a nice cup of hot choclate. But mainly I drink water all the time and I really feel good about my choice because I feel healthier.

That is a good thing that you got yourself conditioned to drinking only water. I have to say that it does not seem like an easy feat to do. I try to drink more water during the day however I still need something sweet every now and then. If you are able to cut back then that is a good thing. You seem to have yourself disciplined pretty well along with allowing yourself a treat here and there if you go somewhere. I do agree that you can feel healthier from drinking much water. It probably has to do with the body getting more hydration from the water intake.

Drinking while eating dilutes your digestion power. Avoid cold drinks.

I need to drink more water myself. I usually drink coffee in the morning. Like you with later meals tea or soda. I get about 1/2 the recommended amount of H20.

Thank you ersmommy for your answer. I like to drink coffee in the morning but I have been cutting back to trying to drink more decaffeinated drinks along with a little bit of sugar in it. There is just no substitution for water though. I try to drink some water every day if I can. You say that you only get about half the recommended amount. Well I am probably the same way. Take care friend.

Thank you for your honesty Antiquelady. I can appreciate that you would want to drink something other than water with your meals. Water can be beneficial and good when it is ice cold however it does not have the sweet taste that some people like to enjoy while eating a good meal. I like to drink iced tea and coffee myself but I guess there is still no substitution for water. Water keeps us hydrated. As a matter of fact I had learned a while ago that you are supposed to drink water after a cup of coffee. Take care friend.

I have taught myself to drink only water with meals. In the Summer I drink cold water in the Winter just room temp. I do drink coffee in the Morning but after breakfast.

Thank you savypat for the response. That is a good discipline you have there. The ability to just drink water with meals. I have done that from time to time but I just feel that I need tea or soda with a meal. It seems to go better with meals than just plain cold water. However if it is pretty warm outside I like to drink cold water and that is it. I won't go out of my way to drink water with a meal unless there is just nothing else to drink.lol!

Hello bamakelly , when I eat something hot and spicy I prefer to have water with some lemon juice. The lemon helps cool the spicy food. During the summer months water is what I have to cool off but I must admit I will have a popsicle. Banana popsicles are my favorite.

I would eat food that is heavy in source. Such as products such as high fiber foods i.e porridge, oat bran, oatmeal, wholemeal bread sandwiches as these help increase body fiber levels.

Since many diets tell you to drink water I started early on training myself to drink water rather than other drinks. As weird as it is I crave to drink a nice big cold glass of ice water in comparison to drinking a soda. Every once in awhile I will crave a sweet tea or maybe a soda but for the most part I drink water with any meal at any time. I do enjoy drinking orange juice or apple juice in the morning with breakfast.

I don't think any beverages while I eat. It is either before or after the meal. The drink itself is usually either hot tea, milk, soymilk, or 100% juice. I can't really allow to many flavor combination or I might lose my meal.

I like to drink water with pretty much anything, it's very good for cleansing the palate. I drink water pretty much all the time, but first thing in the morning I usually like something stronger tasting. If I was eating cookies or something, milk is always the best.
