When you are living with depression, it is like living in your own little world. You can see everyone, and everything that is going on around you, but it just doesn't matter. You don't feel anything about it at all. All you can really do is watch it all go by; it is not even really a part of " your " world. It is not even sadness....it is just nothing. I do know that there is life AFTER depression, and that is IS treatable, so don't be worried, friends. I just think someone should say how it REALLY feels. It IS a tough one to deal with, especially if( with someone like me) it tends to be something chronic. Any other opinions???

I do know that there is life AFTER depression, and that is IS treatable, so don't be worried, friends. I just think someone should say how it REALLY feels. It IS a tough one to deal with, especially if( with someone like me) it tends to be something chronic Yes its treatable but how much treatment can be done or rather how quickly healing can occur varies from person to person and situation to situation....I've been suffering from depression since the age of 5, then it was medium..by the time I was 10-11 it became medium to major and from my teen yrs to now its severe..Of course the cause has never been one thing..its been trauma after trauma after trauma which of course makes it harder to handle, heal from and live with even with medication and counseling... Sometimes (as in my case) there ISNT life after depression because the depression is a life long thing....I will suffer from it until the day I die simple because there is SO MUCH to deal with...Healing from trauma cant be rushed by any means...HOWEVER that does NOT mean at all that my life is doomed...I more often than not live well and have my depression fairly under control (with the help of much medication and a great solid support system)... I think the key to any case of depression be it mild and short term to severe and long term is to NOT ignore it..Get to the cause of it and work through the healing which of course can be hell in itself BUT worth every second of it..

Wow. Thank you for that, I needed to be reminded, so I could think again a little bit. You really said it all. I will come back and read this again, and maybe add another comment.

if you feel depress, just pray and ask for god's guidance.

Yes living with depression can be a tough battle in itself...I truly believe though it's how you look at yourself and the help you may need to survive through it I was diagnosed with depressions because of events in my life... I still feel at times I'm going around in circles but beliveve I'm strong enough to reach the top...Support in family and friends has really helped me as well as my councling!
