I'm not sure the last time we all watch a movie together. I gave the kids the new release of The Velveteen Rabbit for Easter, but they have yet to watch it. I want to watch it, but I'd like the kids to sit down and watch with me. I'm sure they think it will be too childish for them, but I've heard it is good. It has a combination of live action and animation.

Sunday night we finally watched the Velveteen Rabbit. My husband, daughter and I watched it together. My son begged off, but he did have homework to do. It seemed different than the book I had read, but still a cute movie. More for younger kids though. My 15 yr old said "Oh, I'm so glad I got to watch that" her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Last week me and little sis watched the movie called Roscoe Jenkins and she thought it was funny. It was a enjoyable movie. But then it had a great actor Martin Lawrence and other great cast, even James earl Jones.

The last time I sat down and watched a movie with at least one of my kids was just the other day when I rented Wall E. As my oldest son wasn't interested in watching it I watched it with my youngest son. It was cute, though not really what I had expected in a movie.

I sat and watched Ice Age with my kids tonight over at my sisters house. I sat there for most of it anyway. I had to get up a few times and tend to the pizza breads that were in her toaster oven. They also watched Over the Hedge and part of King Fu Panda, but I was really not paying much attention for those movies.

We have a family movie night at least once a week. For the past week or so we've been re-watching all the Harry Potter movies. I have a membership to Blockbuster.com and have free in-store exchanges, so we use the exchanges to make sure we have a family movie every week and we'll all sit and watch together every Sunday without fail. Sometimes we'll watch movies on hubby's second day off too.
Hubby and I have our own movie night without the kids at least 2-3 times a week as well. That sometimes means we have to stay up really late, either because of having to wait until after a show is over, or having to wait for him to get home from a late night at work... but we love movies so it's not a huge inconvenience for us.
