Eden of the East

Eden of the East -- Selecao IX - Akira Takizawa is Selecao IX, one of the chosen people to change Japan for the good. He is seen in the series naked holding a phone and a pistol. He has no memory of what happened before his ordeal in Washington.

Eden of the East is a series directed by Kenji Kamiyama, director of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, with character designs by Chika Umino of Honey and Clover fame. The anime is created by Production I.G. and is currently airing in Fuji TV's Noitamina time slot. The story revolves on twelve chosen people who were given Nobility Phones which they will use to do justice and change Japan for the better. ----- So far, this show proves to be the best show of the season. It's mix of intrigue and romance gets the viewers sucked in to the world of Selecao. Anyone watching this? We can discuss our speculations here.

Yea. I'm following this anime series. I like it so far. Akira is a very interesting character and the plot seems interesting too. I think this series is only planning for 11 episodes. Here is my review in my blog for Eden of the East so far: http://chan-chan-anime-blog.blogspot.com/search/label/eden%20of%20the%20east

I think the finale of the series will be a movie due also this year after the initial run. I really like the concept behind Selecao, it made me think that if I had the power to change the world, what would I do? Ahaha, This series is a good breather from all the moe overload I've been seeing from the last 2 seasons.

Oh, it's an anime. I thought for once this was a korean drama...there's a k-drama whose title is the same as this.

I'm watching it! I was sold the moment I knew a majority of the GitS was part of the staff. What's not to love about that? Then there's the added charisma of Umino Chika and School Food Punishment. It's like they had a checklist of things I wanted to see and decided to greenlight it. :p Since I knew the directors and staff, I wasn't surprised by the excellent background. I was amazed that they got actual non-Japanese speakers to voice the Americans, though. Right now, I'm just enjoying the episodes and not really speculating yet. I'll get there, though and I'll probably hunt forums to get on the game. xD
