I have a friend who loves to chat over the phone, but... once he start jabbering he won't stop for at least 1 hour, even when I only replied with "hm", "yea", or "ok". look I'm not hate him or anything, but lately the frequency become intense and I'm started to feel disturbed, I'm not a talk active person, but I'm willing to hear you out, especially when you have a problem, but chatting with no direction for an hours ? that's not something I'm fond of. so if you have a solution that wont hurt his feeling please give me one, I really don't want to hurt his feeling, he's basically a very nice person... just a little noisy.

There is something you can do about it: Speak up. Yes, it might sound rude, but it is the only solution. Just tell him that you are interested, but don't have time to hear all his talks. And tell him that it's because you have things to do and not because he is a nuisance. Be kind and polite, he won't be hurt. Regards, AJ
