If so, what do yours tend to be about. Me, I'm all over. I like writing about personal experiences. Recently, I wrote a very short piece about the testimonial of a victim of a drunk driver. I'm waiting for reviews but I think it was quite interesting. I think reading stories and studying the plots also helps me write. One day I'd like to write a book, but for the current time, I'm building up my skills.

I love to write children stories. Those are the stories that I love to read when young, in fact still love to read. Those children stories are usually based on the Chinese legends. There are a lot of tales about animals changing into beautiful women and fell in love with scholars.

Hi Riice, my command of English is not that fantastic, even though I did graduate from university. Speaking in simple English and using simple words are so easy. Especially when the story starts with "long, long ago" and ends with "happily forever". It is good to write for a living, I think being a journalist is a good way to make a living, and ability to write news is a useful skill.

Lol, I guess when you put it that way (the long long ago way) it makes it a little more easier for one to understand. I like playing with words. To me, it's like a game. I've just recently joined MyLot and I'm really feeling it. It lets me have fun, meet people, and talk about things I very much enjoy talking about. So do you illustrate books also?

That's awesome. I don't have the skill to write children stories. I feel I would have to water down my writing (I'm a journalist/poet). I've written a few children's poems, but to write a whole story just for a young reader would be difficult for me.

I've written short stories which cover topics such as love, the holocaust, the supernatural, self harm... anything goes :) the more outrageous / unusal the better!

really? I LOVE reading about the Holocaust. Not Hitler's crazy stupid schizo self but the people who had to live through such terror!! And the amazing people who lived through it all! Do your stories focus on the bad of the holocaust or the hopeful?

Yeah, I write sad short stories. Basically about, life, love and friendship and how serious they can be in affecting one's feelings. I set it up by using unusual characters, like plants and flowers, etc. LOL.

I'm a published poet and write articles. When I send my poems to my older friends, they say that they're kind of sad and ask me if I'm okay. Lol, it's happened more than a few times. I just tell them that it's what I was moved to write at that point. Sometimes it's not particularly what I'm feeling, ya know?

Hey, this means that you are a good writer. You were able to cast the feelings you wanted to your reader. Very good indeed. That's the main purpose of it. Kudos to you.
