Today is a big day not only for Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, but for all Filipinos as well. What do you like about him? I wanna know :) Here's mine. --- I think everyone will agree that he is a good person and that he has the heart of a champion + that indeed, he is a great fighter. BUT there is one characteristic of Manny goes unnoticed to a lot of people... Manny is an awesome student - he listens to Freddie Roach and follows instructions given to him. I think this is one important attitude that we should all have. Manny goes up there in the ring knowing that his job, as a "student", is to fight like he was taught by his trainer.

Perfect for the rainy season - Unless you can afford to dip this one on the flood.
Since discpline was already mentioned, well i like his form (...that includes his attire) as a boxer. He has got a very cool boxing shoes that makes me want to be a boxer! lol! The bold "Pacquiao" written on his trunks. I think he has a good fashion sense in the ring. He makes boxing cool evenf or casual fightfan!

@ THERESAAIZA: Yeah! Jinkee Pacquiao is dressing better. I think she should -- considering that Chanel is her current favorite right now. She is one lucky girl.

It's the humility that I find so striking in Manny Pacquiao. Can you believe how much he earns per fight and how little changes in his personal attitude it affects on him? He never stops wearing the rosary before he gets into any fight, he always thanks God (in an ungrammatical but still cute way) after he wins/loses fight and he keeps on telling people how well his opponents fight!!! In his interviews before a major fight, he keeps on telling people that he will do his best and hopes that his best will win him, AND his fellow Filipinos, pride. Oh and I really, really like how he SMILES ALL THE TIME! It's just so refreshing! Thanks for the response on my discussion :)

I sure hope that everything we see on TV about Manny Pacquiao is true. I'd be crushed if I'd find out that it were just part of his PR tactics. I kind of have this feeling that his PR guy is trying to project him to be a super good person. I have nothing against it, as is, MP is an inspiration and a symbol of hope to millions of Filipinos.

Well besides from his being a good boxer I think what I like about him is his spirituality. You can see him that even before the fight he prays and after the fight especially after his successful fight he prays back again. Then when he arrives home the first things that is in his itinerary is going to Quiapo Church to pray again. This habit of him is what makes him a different person amongst his opponent. Seldom do I see a boxer as pious as he is. Although there are vices that he still has to change in himself but, I think it is just him being a bit human too.

His discipline and Teamwork with his coach. He is following what his coach has. Likewise, he has a strong FAITH in GOD. Before and after the fight he say Thanks to God and that is really Good. Ask and you will received then thanks to Him when you have it already.

You really gotta give it to him when it comes to TEAMWORK, not only with his coach, but with everyone surrounding him -- helping him in all of his fights. I was watching something yesterday in a local channel and MP was being interviewed. He was being asked who his next opponent will be. His answer was straight and simple. He said that when it comes to this matter, it all depends on his promoter. He said that he is a fighter and it is his job to fight inside the ring. Clearly, they all play their roles properly.

I hope so too.... I watched a documentary on GMA7 a week before his match against Hatton, I learned that MP doesn't know how to say NO. Looks like he has to do a lot of improvement on that area.

Manny Paquiao, yah he's the pound per pound champion, he's also a star now, a tv host, and product endorser, yah vit water.. but what i like most is he's once an under dog, if you've seen he's fights when he's just an amateur, when he torn apart by a thailander that when i first saw him when the world still dont't know him.. He's no rich boy who have gone to states for training, he's a pure talent driven by poverty. Hope God give him the wisdom and guidance to decide on his own the important things that really matter not be conformed by opportunist in our country.

His determination, self confidence and hardwork. His love for God, country, family and everyone around him. He never neglect the people working with him. He see to it that he is not the only one enjoying a better life but all people who is rendering him service. He's humility and will to learn. He is good in speaking English now. Aside from all of these, he has great faith in God and never forget to remember God before and after his fights and always. His faith and so his Mom's devotion and other peoples prayers are among his winning powers.

I like his discipline and focus, as well as his patience and perseverance. A true ingredient in cooking up a champion. I just hate seeing him gambling with some other political figures who just supports him for the ride to fame and fortune.

One thing that really turns me on with him is his being "GOd-fearing" and "religious".Before the fight, he always do the sign of the cross and pray for a while. It impresses me a lot. That's what a lot of successful people should do,never forgot the creator and our Father above.:)

He is a responsible husband and father,a good citizen, God fearing person, A good listener, he listen very carefully with his coach Freddie Roach, and a helpful person, he try to put the people who had been in the field of poverty to give a good life to them.
