Angel Mounds State Historic Site? Was there a few years ago.It's Located in southern Indiana. This is a great place, it is one of the prehistoric Native American sites in the U.S.. Angel Mounds was know as a chiefdom.It was one of the largest towns of it's time in Indiana. People at Angel built mounds in their town.Chiefdoms like Angel the high-status families lived & were sometimes buried on top of their mounds. The people of the town were known as Mississippians they were American Indians around 800 AD, They occupied Angel Mounds from as early as 1100 AD & left about 1400 AD. It's really a neat place to visit,lot's of history!
