Is anyone doing or has anyone done this program? I've been doing it every week (except for last week--had the flu) since February. I'm still on Week 2 though, because I feel like my breathing needs to improve before moving on to Week 3.

Yeah, it's a nine week program that takes non-runners and gets them running a 5K by the end of week 9 through interval training. The program is outlined here: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml You can also find a stretching routine on coolrunning.com here: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_1/126.shtml Podcasts you can download for free that have music and the verbal cues for when to run/walk can be downloaded here: (you can also find these on itunes by searching c25k and/or couch to 5k) http://www.kissmyblackass.org/?page_id=86 (this podcast is more hiphop) http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/podcasts/podcasts.html (techno/dance)

Haven't even heard of it, but that sounds cool! I have a cold right now, but I'm almost over it. My breathing could still use improvement too though before I start running. I'm actually wanting to get into running. I never thought I could do it before due to bad knees being in the family. But then I found out there are running shoes for them! So I go some and as soon as I'm well I'm going to start running. I figure I'll start out doing walking a quarter mile, then running a quarter mile. And then I'll work up to where eventually I can just run the whole mile. I don't know how far I ultimately want to be able to run, I guess it depends on what cool trails I can find out here.

I never thought I'd be a runner either, but I do enjoy and even look forward to C25K days! Bad knees run in my family too. I take Move Free (glucosomine chondrotin with MSM supplements) to help with joints...I started taking them after I did high impact aerobics and felt joint pain. Also, I never skip stretching, before and after running and that has been my number 1 source for a pain free run. Good Luck and Good Running!

I have not done it. I have been thinking about it, but I havent actually made the plunge yet! A friend of mine is doing it. She has been posting her progress on her blog. She often talked about being nervous to try the next week, because it seemed like so much. However, if you never try, you wont be able to do it! Why not try week 3 and see where it gets you? Pushing your body some will help it even more than waiting to be perfect at each stage. Good luck!

I never thought of it that way! I originally started the program a year ago and after Week 3 Day 2 I went into a full body cramp and thought that it was from pushing myself too much to get the program done "on-time." But now, maybe I am being too cautious! Thanks for the insight!
