I was just wondering how everyone thinks the President is doing with our economic "situation" that we seem to be in...I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like nothing is happening, I mean I don't hear anything...with Bush you usually heard some stupid thing that happened or something, but I almost feel like I'm living in a country without a President...maybe I just need to fine tune my ears more so that I know whats going on around me. I mean don't get me wrong I've heard about the stimulus package etcetera, just sort of feels like the President is underground or something

You have "touched" on very shaky grounds with this post. :-) Hopefully some people will find it in their hearts to be as gentle as possible. :-) You have addressed an issue that will bring about a lot of interest, so I hope that you are prepared for what you are asking. :-) With that said, the only comment I have is in reference to your "nothing is happening statement." I, for one, think that our nation was doomed for the past 8 years. :-) The present President has only been in Office for only a few months. Now, let's compare a few months to 8 years. :/ See the difference, how could anyone quickly change 8 years of damage in only a few months? Hmm? :-) Well, that is all I have to say about this, and nothing more. :-) Thanks for the discussion. :-) Have a great day. :-)

I do agree in his debates he had a better outlook and seemed like he could do alot of good but I have to say he has not had a chance to make big changes yet because you are right for 8 years all of this has been happening you cannot change 8 years of doom in a few months so maybe if we give him time we will all see what happens. We all know it will go either way he will either help us or leave the country the way it is.

I agree with you. I do hear talk around my office, that he has claimed to add so manyI jobs, blah blah. What I want to know is how he proves it. In my opinion, the stimulus package sucks. I mean I see the extra few dollars on my check each week, but it certainly doesn't help with the bills. I realize that Obama has only been in office a few months, but I am waiting to see any of the change he promised and am very curious as to what else he is going to do about this declining economy. This is the first year in 8 years I am not getting a raise, and righ during a time where I could use it. I am not putting him down yet, but I am very ready to see the changes he keeps promising.

With where the economy is at now I think money wise we could all use some way or somehow to get guarentees on jobs and raises like there is supposed to be and some kind of help but its just not happeneing right now. Hopefully soon something good will happen for this country.

I guess I notice a little more on my paychecks, but it still worries me cause I would rather have a big refund next Spring. None of that is ever really explained. I have noticed he is doing A LOT of visting and of the bills I have read so far I am not impressed....the mandatory volunteering of children while in middle school and high school and even college....oh, but the parents get taxbreaks...all that seems a little too gov't in families households to me. Honestly I did not vote for the man and do not agree with much of he says and does, but like others have said it's still kinda early, but from what I have seen, not impressed and there will be another election in 2012. I think he is merely a puppet in the whole scheme of things.

i have heard the news that American citizen don't agree with their president:Obama's new economic policy from international news. Maybe it need a bit longer time to appear the benefit to states, not only a short time to be success. i think.

I was just talking to a friend of mine who is in management at a local major employer. Their company was in dire straits until the bank came through with a loan. That loan was made possible in part by the TARP money. There have also been several construction projects announced or started because of the stimulus package. So we are starting to see some results. But I'm afaid it is going to be a long, arduous process to get us out of this situation. It is going to take a lot of patience--something that seems to be in short supply in our instant gratification society.

If you check out some of the discussions posted in the politics interest here in myLot you will find what many people think of what Obama has baeen up to. Aparently he's been up to a LOT. But most people here seem to think that he's basically been "up to no good". I hope you get the answers you're looking for.

I think it is moving slow on these economy. I watched CNN last time and I saw most of the banks in the US pay back the bail out money, and Government will have more fund later on, but don't know when. Lately, I heard they will give out some Tax Credit to help out people and individual will get $400 and join tax return will get $800. So, it is not too bad at all. There are many many things happened since the past past year, so it is totally hard for President Obama to pull everything back to normal... it might take up to 3 years, but I am sure he is working on it and as we are American then we should support him all the way, right?

to me, I think that the media decides on what we need to know and right now I think they are all hung up with the swine flu epidemic to scare us with. I don't really approve of obama's choices and I recently heard that a lot of people who received the extra money in their paychecks will wind up having to pay it back at tax time next year because obama screwed up. i am not surprised by this, it seems like all he wants to do is spend and there is still so much waste out there. as far as the economic situation, I really don't see how anything has gotten better. to me, gas is still too much money, the price of food is outrageous and when I go to my local mall I am shocked at how many stores are gone. I have been unemployed for almost 6 months now and I see the world through the internet, the television and what I observe when I leave my house. I don't know how other people are really doing, only what my husband tells me about his co-workers. I think obama spreads himself very thinly and I don't think that for someone with little experience he should be doing the job this way. I don't really think that much is changing for the positive.

Now I start to blame our president. 30% citizeies even don't know the president's name. You can only see the president on TV when there is a meeting to be held or foreign presidents(or permier) come to our country. In my brain, he doesn't do anything. But everyone gets used to that. If you want to scold, you can do nothing except mouth work. The more accurate name shoud be chairman, not president. Can you guess where I live?
