100 posts and my first green star with 5 in it, how do you get yours?

I really don't know how mylot works but I enjoy posting and responding to different discussions than starting my own... lol, how do you get your stars and what are the colors that signifies them? I see some people having more than a hundred posts with no stars... how does this work anyway?

congratulate !
i got a star 4 after 100 posts! i forget the colour !
at that time i am very frustrated because i think my star level should be higher !
but in a short time ,less than 2 days ,my star level is 8.i do not know how mylot evaluate us .but now i reach level 9.
