I wanted to know everyone's favorite verse in the bible and why they like it if they'd be willing to share. Also I'd like to know what version of the bible you read. If you have more then one favorite verse then please by all means list as many as you like. I think my favorite one is Ephesians 5 and I read the king james version. I also enjoy Psalm 23 also from the king james version. My fiance and I are getting married soon and the Ephesians 5 in parts are on our invitations. We are also going to have the chapter, or part of it said in our wedding. I'm not afraid to say that I am now becoming a stronger Christian then I was growing up. So please share!

I have so many favorite passages in the bible, and I keep reading it several times a week. But my favorite chapters are Genesis (because it is where the story of Joseph found), Samuel (very wonderful to read, he was the last judge of Israel who assigned by God to annoint King Saul and King David), Daniel (because it talks about deep faith in God)and book of Matthew and Mark in the new testament because these gospels talk about the life of Jesus Christ as a preacher and a savior.

I am not sure of all of those chapters, I know that I have heard of them but I do not know the contents of every single one of them. I am really now just picking up the bible to study it in depth. I appreciate your response to me.

This is a really good discussion baby and I am sure that a lot of different people have different scriptures that are their favorite for one reason or another either because they think the way it is written is pretty or because they think that the meaning can be related to their life in someway, and I think it is good for people to read the bible, and I know we are trying to study the bible more and learn more about Gods word, and I am nor sure what my favorite scripture would be but I know I do like the Ephesians 5 like we used on our wedding invitations and like what we are going to have said by the pastor at our wedding, and I would definitely say I am becoming a stronger Christian then I was growing up because when I was little I went to church but I never understood God or the bible, but now I want to learn more about the bible and we are doing our marriage counseling work books so we will have a stronger marriage because we will have a marriage God will be proud of,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

I know growing up I wasn't forced to go to church so when I did it was very seldom, and in my teenage years was at different churches, some of which were not even in my religion. I am glad that we are both studying the bible more to get a better understanding of god's word, and using our marriage counseling books to help us grow towards each other more then even we are now, and also using emails to do the same, of course with growing more towards each other we grow closer to god. I love you, I appreciate the response.

One of the verse I like is 1 Cor 4:20. "For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power." In our times, most church services dwells on teachings alone and no power of God was observe thus more and more on the congregation don't feel the difference of the church to the world. And also some other churches teach what the world would teach and off course the world is better on worldly topics because they belong to it. But when I encounter this verse, I know that this is true and in our church that's what we are experiencing because our God is alive!

I haven't encountered such here lately but I also do not attend church regularly, something my fiance and I have talked and need to talk more about. I appreciate your response to me and the verse you shared is very lovely.

My favorite verse or passage changes for me everyday... or even more often than that. Right now I am enjoying 1 Peter... but that could change when I pick up my Bible! I presently read the New American Standard version. I really enjoy two other versions that I read frequently. I like the New Living Translation and the Jewish Bible. I use the Amplified for studies. I like the NIV the least... toowatered down for me!

I don't like reading to many versions of the bible as I feel that if I do I may get a bit confused. I have read from the NIV and the KJV but I think that those are the only two versions I have read from. The NIV is a bit too simple but I don't think that it is necessarily bad, just that it makes it seem that they are leaving things out, atleast that's my opinion. Sorry it took me so long to respond.
