The wrong flag

St George's Cross. The flag of England - This is the flag that represents England. Not the red, white and blue Union Jack which is incorrectly shown.

The flag used by Mylot for England is totally wrong. What they show is the"Union Jack" which combines the crosses of three Patron Saints. St Patrick for Ireland, St Andrew for Scotland and St George for England. I have asked several times to have this changed. The real English Flag, St George's Cross is hopefully shown alongside if my upload works correctly.

Under the 'MyLot Population', I don't see a heading for England. I do see one for the United Kingdom, for which the formal name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. When I looked that up at http://www.flags.net/UNKG.htm (reference only), it did indeed show the Union Jack flag. Perhaps that's where the confusion comes from? With most countries listed seperately here at MyLot, I don't see why England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are not listed seperately. Would make sense and end a lot of confusion.

I believe they mean the myLot interest for England, rather than user details.

Now I feel silly. And, of course you're right. Thanks for correcting my error! The English flag for England has been used and accepted since the 16th century. Based on that, it certainly should be acceptable to MyLot as well.

I was referring to the list of discussions but thank you for pointing out the Mylot population list. I had not realised it was possible to get lists of users for each town. Very interesting. In this list England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales are combined as the United Kingdom. I have no objection to that.

Well, I believe that such an anomaly should be corrected . It can anger people from England if such a thing is shown .

Thank you for your response, Lakota. I don't hold out much hope of getting it changed. It is strange that the English people accept this when under the heading "Scotland" the St Andrew's cross flag is shown. It makes it look like England has no flag or identity of it's own. Do any of our English friends have any opinion on this? Are you happy with the three country flag instead of your own?

They should change it I think. England wants it's own flag! :)

Hi Slashable, Thanks for your comment. England should have their own flag but Mylot has other ideas and don't seem interested in correcting their error.

Baffling, isn't it? You would think that they would have the Jack labelled UK or United Kingdom/ Great Britain etc.
