I always cook from scratch. I am a vegetarian. I am also Jewish and eat kosher, so I cannot eat those ready-made meals because they are not kosher. It would be nice to occasionally be able to just pop something in the microwave and have it done in just a few minutes. Shalom~Adoniah

Excuse my ignorance on this topic, but what does Kosher mean? Is it a blessing of some sorts?

In the Bible it tells you about Kosher. The christians call it the old testament. We call it the Tanach. It tells the ways to raise animals, to slaughter them, which ones you can and cannot eat, how to prepare them, what foods may be eated together etc. It also tells to keep meat and dairy foods and dishes separate. That is why I am a vegetarian. I do not have room to keep everything separate so I keep it simple. Shalom

By the way it is a Mitzvah to keep Kosher. A Mitzvah can mean Commandment or it can mean a Blessing so you were sort of right. Shalom

I usually cook from scratch. It may take more time to prepare the ingredients and I usually cook more than two meals at a time, but that way always make more delicious meals. I only used instant ingredients that I can't find or take too long to prepare like coconut milk. Besides, cooking is more fun if you prepare everything instead of relying on ready made. It's more nutritious too.

Scratch. I dislike most ready-made things 'cause it makes me feel lazy...besides it's healthier for whomever I'm feeding. And it helps me develope my skills as a cook.

It really depends on what mood I'm in and how much it cost for the ingredients for something. As long as its simply and inexpensive I'll try to cook it, but I have run across a recipe that has so many ingredients that it would cost a arm and a leg to get the stuff in order to cook it.

I cook everything from scratch. I think it´s a lot cheaper, you can eat gourmet all the time and for me it´s also a game. I love to cook and now I don´t follow recipes anymore: I make my own inventions. I also make my own jams, jellies, pickles and relishes. YUMMY!!!

I am the Microwave Queen Even though...I would love to cook food that my fam would actually eat, but I usually sneak the boxes and pre-made meals in the house and hurry up and set the table but the bell on the microwave is so loud they sometimes ask what's in the Microwave?

I would rather make it from scratch.....I don't believe I've had too many of the ready made meals as they are not worth the money you spend on them. they have their good side though as they are so convient....
