St. Paul and St. Luke are not a direct witnesses of the words of Jesus Christ that's why they are called Apostles. They are the followers of the words of Jesus Christ. Most of their writings was accounted from the early Christians and from the direct witnesses such as the Disciples of Jesus Christ like St. Peter. St. James and St. John. St. Paul and St. Luke was born on A.D. either from A.D. 1 to A.D. 10. (Luke 1:2). St. Paul was already 30 to 35 of age when he was converted. St. Paul and St. Luke evangelical missions together with their age was around 50 or 55. Then St. Luke was became the disciple of St. Paul. St. Paul and St. Luke evangelical mission are mostly on the conversions of the Gentiles including Greeks and Romans to Christianity. St. Luke is patron saint of physicians, doctors or the field of medicines. Although he was born slave as a Greek or Gentile he manage to learn about medicines. During the final persecutions, sufferings and decapitations by the Romans of St. Paul, St. Luke was always with him. Here are the references for additional informations. dianmelydia! luke was a physician, he was a man with a keen mind and a kind heart, and this fine blend of qualities, with the guidance of god's spirit, has resulted in an account that is both accurate and full of warmth and feeling. the book of luke was written by him in c.a.d. 56-58 in caesarea. although luke is nowhere named in the account, ancient authorities are in aggrement that he was the writer.
