oh lord, was that ever a gruesome time for me looking back on things and how turned off and powered down my brain was during those years, I wonder that I even survived to this day, to tell teh tale :D MOST of the things that we SHOULD have learned about, were not even mentioned. Most of the stuff they DID teach us about, is COMPLETELY useless. I mean 100% no application in my life today. How about the REAL skills that propel a person further in life ? Rapport, building a social network, social interactions. Body language Self esteem management Personal energy management - nutrition, sleep, exercise Depression, loss and trauma handling Mental flexibility None of it, not even attempted, not even mentioned. I just WISH one day one teacher started a contest like: ok kids, this sunday we hit the parks. Your homework is to go and play nice with the opposite gender, and make 3 brand new friends :D Or, OK kids, this month you will learn about sleep deprivation, management and the importance of taking well care of your sleep hours. Classes start at 5 AM :D Or whatever, these may be exagerrations, but just look around at how inflexible and clueless people are, when it comes to testing new things. Kids have no problems with it, they just try, fail, review, try again with soemthign different. Adults are like blah and most of it because of schools. And look at the schools today: What's the purpose of them ? Preparing a kid for society, right ? Well does ANY class at ANY time have projects that go, ok kids, this semester we'll look into how YOU can make money online. And actually teach a kid, give em SOME sort of options of starting with nothing, doing something constructively and ending up a few bucks richer ? -- Finally, the classes themselves. Dammit, classes should be separated, per level of skills and progress. THe best progress kids should get access to more stuff, computers, more leisure time etc. The lower the progress, the more crappy the class. and here's the catch: classes should be DYNAMIC - as in kids would learn Maths a LOT faster if the prize was moving from the regular class with a boring teacher and a blackboard, to the ones with the computer assisted training, slight music in teh background and one computer per kid. Blah, sorry for the rant, I had it in my head for years now

yeah...this would've been a great idea...maybe the teachers of our generation could do this one real nice.. however, not many students would like that though... and like what my brotha would usually say: "What you learn is not mostly from schools, but from life itself.." I don't wanna say bad but, maybe they were thinking that our brain levels were capable for these skills that's why they have such lessons and all..
