Hooray! I finally have two writing and stars! I have to remember to rate a little each day even when I don't have anything to post. I am working on a couple of new articles but my brain is still groggy from my very long 4 day weekend at Jazz Fest. I feel I could sleep for a week!

Hi Canellita, congra on your writing stars. Wonder how you manage to get the writing stars with 4 very long days at Jazz Fest.
Anyway, the articles at Helium are non-exclusive, you can sell them for Usage Rights at Constant Content for more than $10 per download.
Alternatively you can repost the exact articles at Associated Content.
Since you are staying in the US, I suggest that you write for Helium, but do not post there first, you post in AC for non-exclusive to earn upfront payment, then post in Helium to earn upfront payments too. Then upload in Constant Content for usage rights, you will earn more this way.

I like your earning strategy there. It is really a good way to leverage on earning from multiple sources. I have problem getting a writing star with Helium. I have over 100 articles which were written before the stars system was introduced. I have been doing leapfrog every once in while to increase that damn percentile which I am not too far away.
Cheers and great response.

Aside to Arcideaco, I hope you can get your writing score up. With 100 articles, you should be looking at 3 writing stars.
Two months back, I tried a method to increase the writing percentile. Search for those titles with more than 100 articles, write to it, leapfrog till it is near the top. That particular article will bring your writing score up. A few more of the articles in popular titles will dramatically increase your writing score.
For the past 2 months, this method brought my writing score to over 85%, so that I got additional bonus star.
When I want to leapfrog, I do not choose those articles way at the bottom. Since the bottom 10% articles are not not counted, don't waste time on it, leapfrog those in the middle to bring them up.
Aside to Canellita
I tried out Hubpages before, no point wasting your time there.
If you want to find out more about the different kind of rights, you can checkout Raven1 profile, go to her blog and read about it, she did a very good job in talking about the different rights.
Alternatively you can sign up for Constant-Content and read about usage rights. Basically, it means the buyer can upload your article, must recognise you as the author, and cannot amend a single word in it.
You can re-post the exact articles in AC for Display Only, so that the articles can earn you passive income, and upload the same article in Constant-Content for usage rights.
All 3 sites attract different types of readers. An article that does not earn well in Helium, has better response in AC.
My grammar is not good enough for Constant-Content, hope you have better luck.

I may look into Constent Content soon. I am a little aggravated with helium today as I am down to ONE writing star and NO rating stars even though I have submitted two more comptetitive articles and taken out time to do more rating.

It used to be a blast when I was younger. The fest is actually 7 days and the one year I went every single day my legs were aching for two whole weeks! I was working all weekend though and then we had to break down the booth and pack everything up.
