I'm kind of inbarist to admit this, but this morning when I woke up and went to brush my teeth I was going to use some of this new mouth was I bought, and of course it had one of those child safty caps on it, and I had some trouble getting the cap off I was reading the cap directions they usually tell you how to remove the cap, but for some reason I still couldn't get the cap off, LOL, after little while it finally came off, I no its silly for an adult not to be able to open those caps, but oh well, anyway have you ever had trouble opening those safty caps lol.

You know what? Sometimes those are my most challenging moments!! I never seemed to have trouble getting them off when I was younger (what's wrong with this picture?) but now that I am getting a little older and have a little bit of arthritis setting in, I do not have the strength to open them as I used to. Since I no longer have small children running around my house, I try to buy the non-child proof lids if they are available!

I have 3 kids and my 2 yr old is pretty smart, he can open almost any child saftety cap out there. I think their adult proof instead of child proof.

i do have trouble with them on many occasions. they can be frustrating at times but i tell myself that it is for the children's safety and knowing i have a hard time opening them makes me feel more confident that they will not be able to if they try to open one. i would imagine for people who have difficulty with their hands like arthritis that it can be very troubling though.

LOL, can't say I ever did. The thing is, my 2-yr-old daughter has no trouble opening them either. Just push and twist in most cases. LOL

Hello Apples99 I have to admit, yes I have had trouble in the past opening the child saftey tops, and for that reason, when ever I have to get something from the pharmacy , I ask them to give me easy open caps.

I usually have trouble with the child safety caps. I'm not sure why they're so difficult for adults to open, they're supposed to be child proof, not everyone proof! I usually have to struggle with it for several minutes before I break down and ask someone else for help. If I don't have anyone else around that I can ask for help then I just continue to struggle with it until it either opens up or I give up and decide to ask someone for help later.

I have never had trouble opening those caps - not even when I was a child. I always had to open them for my mom, because she never could get them open either. So, I really don't see how they are suppose to keep kids out.

Sometimes I have a round or two with them...lol..I thought it was just me. Between the cap and that silver seal that never comes off in one piece..I have a time with some of those lids.

I once blew out the tendons in one of my hands and was given a prescription for painkillers and steroids to help with the HORRIBLE pain. I waited in agony at the pharmacy for what seemed like forever and finally got home with my meds. I quickly discovered that with my hand completely debilitated that it was IMPOSSIBLE to open the danged safety caps! SO I got a hammer and SMASHED the bottle open sending pain pills EVERYWHERE. I quickly got to the floor and ate one before scrambling around to collect the rest which I then stored in a dixie cup where I could actually GET to them when I needed it!
