How do things taste to you now?

When I was a child I remember going to the fair and getting cotton candy on one of those paper cones (btw, where are those paper cones now) and that it was just the best sweet candy ever. Or a chocolate bar, or a piece of cake. Even Jello. Now they seem almost bland to me. Especially the cotton candy. I'm not a smoker, so I know it's not that I smoke. Do things taste different to you now that you're older. What kind of things taste different.

Alot of thing still taste the same too me. The only difference i've noticed is cereal. alot of the cereal i loved as a kid tastes horrible to me now. I like sweet stuff, but alot of the colored, kiddy cereal is just funky tasting. has a bad aftertaste. I don't know if its me, or they're just making it differently these days.

Oh, I'm getting that too. I CANNOT stand fruit loops anymore and they used to be my favorite. I do think cereal companies are trying to cut down on the sugar because of the obesity problem. But you know what, when I was a kid we ate fruit loops almost daily for breakfast and we weren't fat, because we played outside! If parents would just make their kids get up and do a little this obesity problem wouldn't be so bad!

yeah. i agree with you on that, but i'll keep my opinions about it to myself, cause some people on here don't like you to have your own opinions. Last time I voiced my opinion i went from rank 9 to rank 3.

Oops! got me so excited about cotton candy that I forgot to respond to the other parts of your discussion..
Maybe you are losing your taste buds? I used to not like certain foods but now I will eat them, like sweet potatoes, milk, But now I drink and eat them now. I used to love eating chocolate cake, it was my weakness, now I am not to into chocolate at all.

Yes I think our taste does change as we get older, or maybe the companies use different ingredients or something, I could imagine big business doing that if it can save them money to use a cheaper ingredient....

Actually I like the bags they now use in place of the paper cones since it lets people store the left over cotton candy instead of having to waste it by throwing it in the trash. So it saves money then having to keep buying it every time your kid wants to get on a ride or wants to save it for later.
