If Jesus died on the Cross for our sins, why is there still baptism?

That is the question that hit me the other day. I feel that when Jesus died he took all our sins that had been committed and forgave them. Does that include the so called, ORIGINAL sin.. I believe it does, so why is there still baptism?

Its symbolism, and ceremony. Remembering what was done, and symbolizing being washed clean of your sins, and dying, and being born again free of your past life. Some people need ceremonies and things like that for their faith. They have trouble for some reason believing in things unless it requires them to do some kind of action. Catholics have alot of ceremonies. Just saying your forgiven is not good enough for some people. They need to experience something.

yeah!I believe on that, baptism also one of the holy sacrament a christian must have. Its a holy way to wash-out from the origin of sin.

Jesus did on the cross to save us from our sins.He is perfect and sinless yet He was baptized to show a good example to us.How much more to us as sinners?Baptism symbolizes the remission of our sins and when we are baptized we make a covenant to take upon the name of Jesus Chrisy, obey His commandments, always do His will and endure to the end.Afer our baptism we still commit mistakes so we need to repent.Hence, through sincere repentance we receive the power of the atonement of Christ.I believe that man will be punished from their own sins and not for Adams transgression.I hope this helps.
