In the sentence "I provided over a million dollars in matching grants,and, almost as important, I helped get it built by using the best contractors in the city." What's the meaning of "matching grants"? and can you off another example of it?

matching grants are when one person or a company matches another dollar for dollar.
such as fundraisers where a private person will give a certain amount if others
will give the same.
