Does your children know what a window crank is? I was listening to a message online and this guy and his family got into a car and the children was wondering (what we know as a window crank) was. They were amazed by it. Everything is so computerized today.

I had a car 'way back when I was young, that had electric windows. It was an old Oldsmobile, a fancy one with electric everything and everything that could go wrong, did. My car now has window cranks. Those kids' parents apparently drive a newer/more expensive car. Do all new cars come with electric windows now??

I think its hard to find a car, if its just a few years old without being all electric. Good to see you Peavey, its been awhile since I saw you.

Well, I guess you know my car is more than a few years old! I've been here off and on, but been kind of busy lately. Spring, garden and all that.

I went to drop something off for my child in school and was waiting in the office. A fourth grade boy asked the principal "what that was, and how do you use it?" The THAT the boy was referring to was a typewriter! You remember the ones you put the paper in and type on. The little boy made me feel so old, I not even 30 yet.

Oh that is just too funny :) I'm sure my kids know what they are but am wondering about the grandkids - will have to quiz them on this one... Computerized cost me $40 this winter - left work went out to parking lot and ice on windows. Started van to get it warming up while I scraped windows but shut the door. Yep, door locked setting there in the parking lot running me holding the window scraper. Had to call service truck to open door.

Those kids can't be too old yet,or get out too often in a car that doesn't belong to their parents! I've yet to own a car that has powered windows..I don't yet trust them! The motors and wiring add weight and just add to the possible things that can go wrong with a car..for the number of times I need to wind my windows up or down in the course of my commute or daily driving,I can put up with the exercise of doing it myself!

Honestly no, my children dont. I do have a car that has power windows but I have owned a few cars with window cranks. I am only 23 and my preference doesnt matter. That is not one of the main features I look for when buying a car. My children are young and I teach them more important things in life then worrying about the difference between automatic windowns and window cranks. Maybe when they are a little bit older I will explain to them but for now, they are young and honestly couldnt care.
