I love to maintain my diary. I use to write a lot about different things. My classmates - do i like being with them or not!, my friends- things i like most about them, events- like dancing competition organized by college, occasions like birthdays, parties i attended, people i met, my crushes, family problems.
Unfortunately i don't get so much free time to write everything in much detail. as the exams are coming. so i just write in short before going to bed. It has become my habit now, and i enjoy doing it every time.
when sometimes i am sad i just flip over the pages of my diary and smile comes to my face. Reading all the silly things i do. I just love my hobby.
What about you?

Welcome to Mylot! I used to keep a diary, I wrote in it every day about my thoughts and feelings and events that have happened, then my partner found my diary and read it, I was so angry and felt totally violated, diaries are NOT be read by other people, friends or partners, so I burnt them all and vowed I would never write in a diary again, trouble is I find diaries helpful to look back on, but I always fear that someone might find them and read them.

hi wolfie34, you are suppressing your inner desire to write. Your partner was really a wrong guy. There must be some privacy and personal diary means that it is personal. he must have not read it without your permission. You burned them! they must have really made you very angry. I have something which will keep your privacy and will allow you to enjoy your hobby of writing. A password protected Digital Diary software will do, i think. I have one and using it for the last 2 years. i also had the same problem as my sister used to peep into my diary but now i am safe.

I found it very therapeutic writing, when I am angry and upset I put all my words on paper and it is very soothing and I am not carrying around in my head bad emotions. I am always worried about storing my diary on my computer if it gets wiped or its get lost, I don't have anyway of backing it up and I find that typing a diary is not as good as writing it. I love writing.

Wolfie!!!! It's been so long since I last connected with you. I just started getting back at MyLot. Glad you still have the same, cheery photo.
Sorry to hear your terrible news about your partner (sorry to say, my first hope was that he is no longer your partner after breaking your privacy like that). And making you burn them? Goodness, that's terrible. I treasure my old diaries. They remind me and let me relive my past. I do not keep nearly enough on paper anymore through diaries now. :o( But when I did, they were such a wonderful thing to do and let me let out my pains and troubles, happiness, and glories. :o)

I used to have a diary during my high school days.. it was a short diary mostly about my frustrations in high school life.
Eventually I forgot all about it. I don't keep a hard copy diary now. The closest diary I have right now is my blog and its all about my experiences in the world of making money online. Please do check it out!

Deepak,
I ditto with you. I wish I kept diaries after I grew up too. (I do somewhat, but extremely sparsely, and no way like I did as a teen or child). I take it you are still pretty young, and a studend. Good for you to keep those diaries and read though them.

I never really had a diary. I do have a blog where I post family things though. That's more fun in a way, because people come and look at it and comment.

I keep a diary, I have it with me all day so that I can write down anything exciting that's happened, drawer doodles, stick leaflets, receipts, tickets, photos, etc in it. I lov emy diary, I like to think about looking back through it in 10 years time and seeing how different I've become if I have changed.
