Forums are being hacked. Are we protected!

I monitor a couple of other forums one of which has now een disabled by a hacker. I don't know how much damage was done, or whether the operation is designed to spread viruses amongst users ( don't worry, i didn' log in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Any comments?

Everyone who uses the internet should be running a good anti-virus and spyware program along with a good firewall. That way you're protected even if the site you visit is infected. There are too many evil hackers out there spending all of their time picking on innocent websites for you to leave yourself unprotected.
