What have you had to do for a dare or a bet?

The things we do! Let's see... How is this for a bet? Travelling on a long road trip, eating liquorice while drinking beer, first one to open the window loses the bet! A friend of a friend was coming home from a barbecue and he was asked for both a bet and a dare to flash himself to a car load of girls. He obliged and did the thing for the young ladies in the car next to theirs. Unbeknown to him another vehicle a few cars back saw the flashing incident and took note of the car registration. Result: $1700 fine and a criminal record!Oops...expensive bet! Have you ever done anything for a dare or a bet? What?...Me?...No way, I'm not brave enough...

I can do anything but striping in front of anyone. 1. If someone is going to ask me to jump from a building, I can do that too 2. If you will ask me to kiss a stranger, that also I can do 3. If you are asking me to be standing whole night, that I can do too but, I can not do stripping. That is the one thing which my friends used to do when they use to loose or win bets. Hence I never dared betting.

At least you know not to accept the dare because you know that you will not be going through with it, which is wise; nothing worse than accepting the bet and then wondering how you can get out of it! I think the three things you listed are brave enough!

As kids we used to swim in The Yarra, something I would never do now. We swam under a railway bridge, and often a dare of one kind or another would come from someone. I remember my first jump off the bridge, which could have killed me, was the result of a dare. Another was to duck-dive without bathers, thus exposing a 'brown eye' to the train passengers. We were only kids, about 12 I guess.

We look back in retrospect and shudder at how fearless we were as kids. We used to go swimming at the beach at night when it was pitch black in very rough seas! There is no way I would do anything like that now or allow my daughter to do it!

You're also a "do as I say, not as I do" person. Luckily we grow out of the crazy things we did as youngsters.

The last bet I took was to go down a large water slide. I went down got off and swore I would never take another dare. That was 30 years ago and I haven't.

Some things we just don't forget and as we get older and hopefully wiser we are a lot more cautious which is not a bad thing at all!

paula27661 you are clever enough to avoid taking up stupid dares or bets. In our locality no one used dare others or make bets. One reason was that no had enough pocket money to put it on a bet. This was when we were children and teenagers. Even now when most of us are employed no one makes dares or bets. I guess people have better things to do. There is one thing that I remember, when I was a teen. Friends had got into the spirit of body building and were chatting about it. One of the boy said that he is capable of 100 push ups. Most of us would just do around 10 push ups, so challenged him to proove himself. Surprisingly he did 100 push ups and shut up others who had challenged him.

100 push ups is no mean feat! I am lucky if I can do 5 and then it would only be those 'girlie' ones with your knees bent! Good on him, to put his money where his mouth is (sort of) Thanks VANILLAREY, I appreciate your response!

I don“t like to do things for dares or bets and I never did. I am too conscious of what I really want to do and feel that daring someone to do something is a way of getting control over him.

That is true, people who dare you to do something are attempting to control you. I don't do anything that I am not 100% sure about; that is the only time I would accept a bet. A dare, I'm not so sure...Probably not! Thanks marguicha!
