When were you diagnosed with depression?

I have had a crazy life growing up, but was always able to see the happy stuff and processed things in a more positive way than most of my siblings. But, as I grew up, things became different...as an adult things weren't so easy to brush off. It was after I had my second daughter and went for a routine physical that I was diagnosed with clinical depression. I sort of laughed, but it did make sense: the moods, the tiredness, etc. I at least had a name for the way I was feeling and acting.

I was diagonosed when I was 12 I was in a mental hospital at the age 12 and at the age 15. I am currently still taking medication as a adult. I feel it is helping. I only had my medication changed once I used to take Prozac. I now take Effexor XR. The doses have been increased over periods of time. I have been on Effexor XR for a few years now.
