When I was in fist year college in University of the Philippines, I was ask by my classmates and teachers from what school I came from. I immediately answer my Alma mater back in high school as well as my elementary education. All of them are not familiar with those schools. A few even say that "never heard" or "is that a school?" or "does it exist?". At first, I really felt bad. I blame my mother for sending me to public school back in our hometown. Later on, I realized that I don't need to feel ashamed because those schools provide me with enough knowledge for me to face college life. In fact, I cannot get the scholarship in the University of the Philippines without the teachings I get from my teachers in high school and elementary. I conclude that I am proud of my school. How about you?

To tell the truth, I don't think dose others know the name of you middle or primary school makes any sense, middle and primary school just give you the fundamental education, and the reputation of those school means nothing to you, what really mater is the reputation of you college, since it help your hunting your job. And, I really proud of my schools, no matter is it namable or not.

yes i am proud of most of the places i went to school because as i see it even if you had bad experiences there its not the fault of the school but the people who you were at school with. Also everythin that happens there makes you who you are and in the peron you are now. Im proud to say which schools i went to if people ask but i dont boast about the schools i went to.

Just like you, i have tried that feeling before. It is really awkward especially if you're classmates kinda show some discrimination about your school. I am still a newly freshman this upcoming june to a university but my situation that is the same as yours happened when i was in high school. My school in high school, is still a public school like my elementary school but it is kinda different since it is a science school, where selected students were chosen. Everytime we were ask about our school, i don't really show anything that i am proud of it, i really wished i went into a private school then. But right now, i realized that, if i wasn't been enrolled on that elementary school then i shall not be there studying on that science school. In that science school, i received a scholarship grant and gain many friends and learned a lot. I am so happy of what i have become and one of the reason of my current prestige is my school.

How can the people in University of The Philippines to be discriminating to you? That sucks! Maybe you should be the one who shouldn't be proud of them because of their reaction. I'm from Ateneo de Zamboanga University. Well not really the one from Manila and not as good as them but i guess it's one of the best at least here in Western Mindanao. The best i should say. I should be proud no matter what. Always bring pride and that should keep us apart from the rest. Whatever people say about it. Some people reading this post might say "does it exist?", well i don't care because i know it does and he/she must have done some research. lol!

I am proud of all my school. They made me what I am now. They may be unpopular but still they exist. And who cares? Why should I be shy of my school? The only reason I guess is that if I became uneducated. But I wasn't. So I am very proud of my school. I graduated elementary in a public school in the province and we were only 11 graduates. When I went to high school we were 110 I think. There were three sections. I am proud of all my schools because I finished with the highest honor. So I guess I should be more proud of them. When I was in high school my Alma Mater is a private one. But when I went to college it was government state university. Located in Sta. Mesa, Manila Philippines is the famous Polytechnic University of the Philippines. That is my most favorite school. I never had dreams of going to La Salle, Ateneo or any private and expensive schools because I know where I stand. I can't afford them. I was a scholar in PUP so the less than 500 pesos tuition fee every semester never became a burden to me. I am proud because that university taught me to be patient and humble. PUP graduates are mostly found to be very hardworking because they are students of the government and we tend to teach ourselves to be satisfied with what is given to us. So we are very persevere and determined when we are at work. I have seen a lot of graduates from my school who were scattered in almost every agency or company working and proving they're worth the job they have. So I am more proud of my school indeed.

The last school that i attended we had the nicest principal I have ever had. He really gave me so many chance when I would think any other principal would have expelled me long time THat and our school produces a large amount of very good students. Just a public school too

Hi Yonkie, Am i proud of my school. Probably not. Liek you said, they are not famous. But if there is any good news for my school, i wil be happy and proud of it. I think the best thing you can do, is to have your school pround of you! If you can be a millionaire, or you do someting good to to society, your school then will be famous!

I am absoultely proud of my schools-elementary to college.. I was in public school for high school but I didn't regret it coz, that school definitely developed me for who I am today.. If it did'nt chose me to join academic contest then I wouldn't persevere and study more than I should have, thus with this level of knowledge that I was exposed to in highschool ,i passed UP.

I graduated from UP Diliman too. I am proud of the schools I've attended. My high school used to be an exclusive school for girls. Although we have our share of awards and recognition, some people consider it as a school for the rich and not-so smart. I attended a one-day review class for entrance exams with my friends. The facilitator was warning us about how hard exams are gonna be. Then she made a snide comment saying that students from certain schools will not pass UPCAT. She actually mentioned the name of the schools including ours! I was surprised because that was very uncalled for. Besides, my friends and I passed the mock up exam. No thanks to her! I couldnt bear lsiten to her lecture after that. And I vowed to pass the UPCAT (and i did) and prove her wrong. It was so very narrow-minded of her. When the results came in, it turns out the review center monitors the test scores of those who signed up for their class. They even put my name and my school in their pamphlet for the next batch of reviewers. Well i sure hope that teacher sees it.
