How much is enough for a gift?

How much would you spend on a gift for someone. I spend no more than $20 on a friend and up to $50 on family. Of course my budget is higher for my kids gifts. Sometimes I just give a gift card to Wal-mart. I don't think anyone complains about that.

For me a gift is a gift. I never value the price tag. It depends on the relation that we are gifting. There is a saying that the mentality of the giver of the gift is more important tan what is given in the form of gift.

I definitely keep the price of a gift in mind while shopping, but that is not my main focus. I always try to give gifts that the recipient will like and actually use! I hate to give something that will sit around forever collecting dust. It is just something in their way and a waste of my money! If I do find something that I really think someone will like but I just cant spend that much money on it, I ask my sisters or other friends to go in on it with me. That way we can give a nice gift that will be appreciated without breaking any of our budgets. No one has ever complained about getting less gifts in lieu of one they will actually use and want!

It would depend. If it is a good friend, like my best friend who is my sister, I spent well over 50$ for her wedding because I knew what she would need and like such as a 20 dollar spice rack and a few odds and ends that most people wouldn't think of when cooking, but she uses. Other friends it isn't more than 20 dollars because if we aren't that close I wouldn't want to spend too much on them. Family depends on how close we are like if it is a cousin I never talk to then the same idea applies.

There is no sure answer from my side when it comes to giving gift. In my view there should not be any limits and no matter how cheap or expensive a gift is, it should touch the heart of a person whom the gift is given.

I think you would be surprised at how much you can save if you shop ahead of time and keep in mind what the person wants or likes. I have found many items at the dollar store or in the clearance area of a store. If it is something like an undated Christmas ornament, etc., you can really get good quality items that your special person will really treasure. It's not about the money. It is about how closely you pay attention to what people's likes and dislikes are. The present that fits the person's needs and wants is the one that is always remembered.

hi, depend how much somebody is important for me or not. For who is very important nothing is not to much. For who i like just show my respect, flowers or a perfume is enaught. I can say that my expensive gift was for my son, 1000 dollars, last year.

All gifts under $20. I am strapped for cash right now. I like to find expensive gifts that are on sale, like the jewellery I get on bids.com. I bought my mother a pair of white gold and sapphire earrings for Mother's Day for $20 on Bids.com including shipping, believe it or not!!! We got my engagement ring from them, and a heart pendant that I wanted. They have great stuff.
