Are there movies you just won't watch because of a specific actor/actress?

I discovered there is an actress that I now have to avoid seeing her films. She is a perfectly nice woman, talented, and no doubt very nice. But I cannot stand watching her in a movie. I'm speaking of Renee Zellweger. She was fine in Jerry MaGuire (sorry if I spelled that incorrectly), but when I tried to watch her in Miss Potter the other day, I couldn't do it. I had requested it from Netflix because it looked like a good movie. I find in other movies I have to quit watching when she comes on screen. I could blame it on her fake English accent in Miss Potter or Bridget Jones, but it isn't just movies where she has an accent. She's very pretty. But her face gets on my nerves. I am absolutely silly. There is a not a reason in the world to dislike her, and I don't dislike Renee Zellweger. I just can't stand to watch her movies anymore. Please, no hating on me for you Renee fans. But are there any actors or actresses that bug you so much you just won't watch their movies?

I can't stand Angelina Jolie! First of all, she is just ugly. I don't think that her over plump lips are pretty. I don't understand the mentality of making your lips bigger that so many are going to now. 2nd I think the fact that she seemed to set out to break up the marriage of Brad and Jennifer and now refuses to marry him and is raising all those kids out of wedlock is a problem for me. I just don't think she's a good role model for all the young girls that go to see her movies!

You know, I thought my dad was pretty awesome when one day he saw Angelina Jolie on TV, and he turned and asked me why in the world people thought she was pretty. I told him he was a rare man, and on behalf of women, we appreciate it! lol

Hear, hear! Can't stand Brangelina either! I thought I was the only one in the world who didn't dig her looks, lol. I wouldn't know if she's a great actor or not cuz I don't see her movies. I hear her Brit accent for Lara Croft was horrendous.

I don't like her or her lifestyle at all. She is not exceptionally pretty. She is arrogant and snobby though by judging from what I have seen. I think she relies on being sultry and mysterious to keep her popularity up. That and brad pitt.

Yeah...i know what you mean. I can't stand any movies that Russel Crowe makes. He's a good actor who has made a lot of good films but I guess I just don't like him. It's probably the accent too but his is real though. lol

If you ever get time to watch a movie, try Enchanted. I think it is a good movie for all ages. Have you seen it? It is the one with Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey.

If you mean the way Renee scrunches up her face while she's talking, I can understand that - yet, in a way, that's why I like her. She's not "runway" pretty. Her facial imperfections are part of her charm. She's actually a very good actress and I've enjoyed what I've seen her in, even though I haven't seen all her movies. I do tend to avoid movies with Leonardo DiCaprio for some reason. Could be I just don't like the kind of movies he does or the kinds of roles he chooses. But, I'm not that fond of watching him.

Yes! Steven Seagal. Anything starring Steven Seagal I refuse to watch. I don't know if it's because he seems to be full of himself or whether it's because I once read an article about him and how his martial arts expertise came about. He married an Asian woman, moved to Asia and studied martial arts, then left his wife and two kids to move to California where he sought fame and fortune. That made me angry! The article didn't mention that he and his wife simply weren't getting along or anything, it just said he abandoned them for his own selfish reasons. They were "holding him back". Disgusting, huh?

No, I didn't know that. I guess he's perfectly suited for that job because he does excel in martial arts. I wouldn't want to get him angry!

I can understand. There are two actors I don't watch. Jim Carey and George Clooney. i have seen Jim in The Mask and batman but I usually don't watch his movies. They are usually "comedies" that I would never see.but with that said I did see him in a great film, It was a drama made for t.v. called doing time On Maple Drive. he was great. As for George Clooney,He said something mean and un necessary and then did the same exact thing he was railing about so I refuse to watch any of his films.but after about a 15 year ban, I did see him in Michael Clayton, He was good.

I wonder if the same thing Clooney said to make you mad was the same thing he said to make me mad. Something about a certain actor deserved to get Alzheimer's disease.

That's a good reason too. Hypocrite, huh. The thing I'm talking about is when Charlton Heston got Alzheimer's, and Clooney actually said he deserved it because he was a member of the NRA. I was appalled. I mean, no one deserves to have that.

No, I didn't hear about that. back in 1995, while he was on ER, he bad mouthed David Caruso for wanting to try his luck in the movies rather than staying on his t.v. series. and then what did Mr Clooney do? He lft his show to do movies. I never forget an a$$hole.

I don't remember any, but most of the time it's the scenes that make me not watching a movie again. Or if I watched similar movie in the past and there was a scene that I couldn't get over with for bad reason, I wouldn't watch a new movie with similar theme. I might once I get over it, though. I watched some movies with Renee in it. Bridget Jones is funny, although she seems a bit over reacting there, or maybe that's the point of the movie. Chicago is a good one alhough she looks really skinny there, compared to Zeta Jones, but the whole thing is fun to watch. I don't get the hype about Brad Pitt. I watched some movies with him in it, they are good as the whole but I didn't see him stand up among other casts in any of them. Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett and kate Winslett are some of my favorites.

Hi AmbiePam! I don't think your weird, and I'm not here to "hate" you either as you are entitled to your opinion and watch what you want to watch! I however don't do this! I watch movies that I'm really interested in watching and if I'm not crazy about an actor I guess I just "get over it" LoL! Happy movie watching my friend :)

I had PPD after my last child and it's not a joke. She had it more extreme than I but it still hurts that some Hollywood ignorant who's never given birth physically or mentally has any idea what she or anyone else with PPD felt. GRRRRRRR....

his name is Van Dame i think claude? i probably didnt spell it right either. the kids are crazy over his movies(my kids anyway)i get the idea his is all about martial arts stuff and he thinks he hot or something. so, yes i know what you mean. i also dont care for Bruce willis, its like he also thinks to much of himself and he just seems mean i did watch the ones with matthew perry in them tho, like the whole nine yards and ten yards, etc. because i really like matthew. maybe Renee reminds you of someone you really dont like. i think its something in our subconcious minds sometimes when certain people get on our nerves and we have no explaination for it. like maybe seem like or are like someone that was abusive to us? i dont know, i could be wrong.

Ih that so funny. do youthink that Renee somehow reminds you of someone you don't like or didn't like? It's possible. I can't think of a single actor or actress who really gets on my nerves. Even bad actors like Ali Macgraw are usually tolerable because they're pretty to look at. Fortunately, Hollywood seems to realize that actors and actresses who cannot act had better be easy to look at and I'm okay with that. lol

Yes, sorry for his fans but I hate Jack Black. I hate mucho mucho film of him I don't know the real title, sorry. I hate school of rock if that what it is. I partially hate The Holiday because he is there, partially is what I said because, he was with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz in the film which are my favorite, and I watch it on the big screen and super hated him because he was paired with Kate Winslet, ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I am really sorry I hate him, they say he is so funny, duh I don't like the face. Tell me I'm bad! Kung fu Panda is way too ok for me because I can only hear his voice not seeing his face, duh!

Yup! Clint Eastwood!! Don't like him and never watch his movies. Barely tolerate movies he's directed. Why don't I like him?? Just a life long dislike of him from when I was very young. SO I can't really give a reasonable answer. His voice, his attitude, his manner... not sure. Combination of lots of things, I guess.

I can't think of an actress but the actor who i cannot stand is Clive Owen... i started not liking him in King Arthur... because he made that character so unlikable and the feeling was sealed when i watched Closer... so even if i wanted to watch Sin City... i decided not to because of him... I like Renee Zellweger... especially in cold mountain... i haven't watched Miss Potter yet... but Renee i can bear... but Clive Owen... not in a million years...

This is one of those threads that makes you think "I'm so glad other people feel like me"! I agree with almost everyone who's already posted. I can't stand Renee Zellweger, Eddie Murphy or Russell Crowe! I can't really put my finger on why - though in the case of Renee it might be that fake English accent (I'm English myself), but with the other two they just get on my last nerve and I can't explain why. I've also started feeling this way about Nicole Kidman too.
