What kind of work?

I have a bad back.
I have been told I can go back to work.(I would love too!)
But, I cannot stand too long, cannot sit too long, cannot bend down, cannot lift things. Cannot have stress situations where I have to run and things have to be done fast. This causes tension in the muscles, what leads to more pains in the back and neck.
Great, what can I do?
What would you do in this situation?
I was told to do work for old people. Clean there house and do grocery's.
I looked at this man and asked him to come see my house. I cannot do things like I used too. My house is a mess! How can I clean someone else s house?
Thank-you.
Take care.

i was going to ask you what your training is? could you get into a typing thing from home (then you can rest when you need to). i have super bad knees (no cartlidge due to a car accident) but i work part time in an office (4 hours/day 3 days/week) and the other time i can rest or do other things (lately i have been getting things ready for a garage sale.) but i work outside of the house. its ok but not something i would want to do forever, but for now it pays the bills.
in my city (in canada) there is an agency that looks for jobs for people that have some sort of disability - is that a possibility?

I was born in Canada. Hamilton.
Typing from home, I have tried different kinds of programs.
I don't seem to get anywhere. I think because I live in Europe. The special programs are based on research in America and Canada more than in Europe.
I would like to work in an office, but I need diploma's for that.
I was a trained (Also diploma) all round machine operator.
I used to work for BDF, Nivea. Worked there for over 11 years. The last year was in Berlin. Then my legs started again. That comes from the back, I could not walk.
I have been off work for two years and one month.
I think maybe I could look that up, what you say about agency's that look for jobs for people like me. That is a very good idea.
Thanks for your comment.
Take care.

I was 14 years old, my parents wanted to move to Holland.
Of course I had to go too.
I am going to look into that job agency thing.
On Monday I will be feeling better I suspect. I am recovering from the
flue. This is day 4, and I am feeling much better, just the nose and energy need to come back more.
On Monday I will be fine and can see about the agency thing.
Thank-you.
Take care.

Then I guess you can try pre-schools or nursery if you like kids. You can work half a day and teach the kids some stuffs. That will not need to you stand or sit or bend or have much stress too long as it's only a half-day job. Besides, you won't be tied to only sitting-down half the day, nor will you be tied to only standing up and teach, nor will you be asked to bend with the kids all the time. So, I guess this should be a suitable work for you if you like kids ....

Thanks for your advice.
I could see into that. Maybe babysitting or something.
I have two children of my own, but they are adults.
I hope I still have enough patience. Hahahaha.
When you have pains, you tend to get a little snappy at times.
Normally I know when I am getting irritated.
But, lately I have been doing very well.
I got iron tablets, my white blood cells were to few. After taking these for
a month, I felt so much better. And my moods are better too.
Yes, I think I could look into that.
Take care.

Most work requires that either you sit for at least two or three hours, and you certainly cannot stand nor do any heavy lifting and if you do go back to work, they will expect you to do something for more than five minutes. It all depends on what skills you have. If you have a lot of academic skills you could do ghost writing or writing articles. That usually does not have a time limit. You could go into light housekeeping which is polishing and just tidying around a place that the homemaker has already kept clean, but there is competition.

Thanks for the advice.
What is ghost writing??
House cleaning will not be good for me.
I cannot even keep my own house clean anymore. I used to be very clean and tidy.
I have to many bad days, I cannot keep up like I used too.
I certainly cannot do it for others now.
Even sitting behind the computer too long gives me such bad pains in my neck.
This is very uncomfortable. Some days are good, some days are bad.
I am interested in knowing what that ghost writing is.
I have wrote articles on-line, but have not made much money with it.
0.27 cents, this is 3 months.
Take care.

If you think you cannot do the job anymore, dont go back. Think first about yourself. Your health is more important than work. There are other work you can do than that.

Hello Margorie,
I will have to advise you, to keep doing what you are doing (working from home).
There are many people who have medical issues, and they have decided to work from home, you really will need the patience to work from home, because most of the opporunities are not like regular 9-5, but working from home can be done.
Try to post to My Lot on the daily bases, and set a goal for yourself, how much time etc , you will dedicate to My Lot.
Happy My Lotting!
