Would you spend on car lock?

My friend's car got stolen last week. It happened at his office. He decided to go home after working, went down to the basement and soon realized his car was gone! I got a little freaked out because I happened to drive the same car as his the one got stolen. So I bought a baseball bat look kind of steering lock. I don't know if any of you would spend your money on car lock. If you would, what kind of car lock you'd use? I think mine I can count on, and it's a pretty good weapon too. Just wondering which one is the most secured?
