When I was a kid, we always had several different kinds of fruit trees and bushes. There was the apple tree, peach tree, plum tree, and sour cherry trees. There were also raspbery and blueberry bushes. I miss the days of all of that fresh fruit right in our yard! Now, I am still able to enjoy fresh blueberries! My mother-in-law has several blueberry bushes in her back yard. Just the other day, my husband and I were visiting and we were checking out all of the flowers all over the yard. One of the blueberry bushes was completely covered in little white flowers! The other bushes had quite a few too. That means there should be lots of blueberries. Strange that the flowers are white and blend in but the blueberries stand out so much on the bush, isnt it? Have you ever had fruit trees or bushes of your own? What is your favorite fruit to eat freshly picked?

I like nectarines best. Really good strawberries come in a close second. We had strawberries in our backyard when I was a kid but I was a very picky eater wouldn't try them for years. Finally my older sister teased me enough, etc. to get me to try them much to her later regret since it meant fewer for her when I liked them. We also had blackberries which I can sort of take or leave.

LOL! That will teach her to tease you so much! That is exactly why I never argue with someone who says they dont want something that I love. I usually respond with 'Good, more for me!'

when i was younger, we lived in a house where our neighbor had a blueberry tree next door. so my brothers and i would fill 2 buckets of fresh blueberrys and give one bucket to mama for her famous berry dumplin soup and we ate the other bucket

When my kiddos were young, we grew our own strawberries, blackberries, and concord grapes. We also had two pear trees. It was wonderful to eat them all fresh and make juice or freezer jam out of the excess. My favorite were the strawberries!
