Thanks to the power of mylot voters, I won an online writing contest!

About a month and a half ago, i entered an online writing contest about blogging. There were two parts in judging. The first was made by three judges. they would rate the creativity, content, style, etc and will give a certain score. The second part was done by the readers. Each reader was entitled to rate the post from 1 to 10 (or something like that, i forgot now, really LOL).
I panicked! Since I don't know a lot of bloggers, I turned to mylot (my haven). I left a message to all, maybe most of my myLot friends to read my post and vote for me (only if the liked the article/story I made). So, there was no pressure on their part.
Come the announcement of the polls two weeks ago, I won by a hair!
I made this discussion to thank all myLot friends who voted for me and to tell you that since I joined myLot, I have been a blogger, a writer, and a poet! My gratitude to the admin of mylot and all the members.

kalav, my friend! Thank you so much for your vote! There was such a small margin, i really thought i wont be able to make it. The last few days was really really tough, i know that the results were in, but I didn't know. so, when she finally announced the winner, then I was overjoyed!

I have been busy with work. Then I went out of town to have a short vacation in the northern province of Ilocos. I stayed at Vigan, Ilocos Sur. That place is a world heritage site. A lot of rich culture of the spanish influence on my country. I love going there. Food is really good and the people are warm, like any place in my country.

I found topics to write on my Helium page from looking at the discussions here. I was also able to make some money from writing. My biggest achievement is when Jenaisle noticed me here. She introduced me to the world of blogging and writing. She is our common friend at Helium.
