My sister just finished her high school degree and school opening is about to come this month of JUNE.. She was asking me to help her choose the right course for her... I asked her what is really in her heart then she should follow it but she just told me that she is still undecided for she is taking into consideration the fall back after graduating college... She's really thinking about her future as to what course can give her a productive job after graduating...Well, I can't find the right solution to her problem.... Maybe you can help me with this.

This is a really tough one because circumstances change: the way things are now is not the way things will always be. At one time, everyone was encouraged to go into banking; they were told that banks were secure and could never go bust - well, just look what happened to that idea! Then the trend was to go into computing; but now I'm hearing that the industry is oversubscribed and there aren't enough jobs for all the qualified applicants. I think you're right that she should follow her heart and do something that she'll enjoy - but remember industries like teaching, law, medicine and veterinary science are pretty much recession-proof.

hihi...in my country, many students are not choosing the business course as they are worried that they will be jobless once they graduate with a business degree due to the economic crisis..especially in the finance industry where so many people are being sacked...there was a reported of up to 20% decrease in the number of applicantion for business degree... and also more and more people are taking up engineering course because that is the so called safest course to take...because there will also be a lack of engineers and they are seldom being sacked.. i feel that it is more important to choose a course that you are interested in and have the passion for it...and not study it because of what other people say... but if you really feel that your future job is the most important, then go ahead and take the course that will have the most secure job..
