You are excity all about this, but, when you need help is a strange city, when you need helP, Are you afraid to ask help from the stranger? If you don't, how did you overcome that? If you do, how will you deal with your problems? Please share your experience. Thank you!

I am not shy to ask for help, especilly during a travel. Though not the driver, I am the one to ask for way for my man or son. But there are times the instruction turned out to be wrong, maybe the one I asked was not a native, or I did not catch clearly. So it is advisable to ask two persons for assurance. Most people are friendly and helpful, though.

Hi Zhuhuifen, Thanks for responding my discussion. I think you are right, ask 2 people for one help just in case. It happened to me many times, i trust the one who pointed the direction, then i went to a wrong place!

Hi Bobmnu, Thanks for responding my discussion. I found that is a very smart way to ask for help. People who look friendly always more willing to help others.

We are very cautious when traveling. Some countries are really safe; and we feel comfortable asking strangers for direction and help. However in other places where the security is not so good, we will check with the hotel personnel for information or anything we need. Other than that, we would only check with personnel at shops or public places, not strangers on the streets.

Maximum I try to avoid any conversation or seeking help during my travel. But if it is very necessary and cannot be avoided, I don't mind approaching people. But little choosy about it. Think twice or thrice before appraching anyone.

Hi Pinkyposh, Thanks for responding my discussion. Yes, you are right. If we get everything well perpared before we go out for travelling, we can avoid end up asking stranger for help. If things that can not be avoid happen, approaching those who look nice for help!

Hi Hxstar, Thanks for responding my discussion. You are telling me that you are really strong, and afraid of nobody?lol... I see what you are trying to say, but nowadays, because more and more people cheated at the kind people, this make some people hard to trusted others, so when you trying to get close to them, they run away, i have that frustrated feeling!

I was out one dark evening in Malaysia and thought I was stepping out into a road. However I fell into an open drain and badly injured my leg. I was helped by some strangers back to where I was staying. Another time I got a bad fever and terrible sickness. I needed help and strangers helped me. I was so grateful to them. I was in Slovakia and nobody spoke English. So I was at a bus station feeling really confused about which bus would take me to Poland. I asked if anyone spoke English in a loud voice. A polish boy helped me. Funnily enough by a lake in Poland I bumped into him and his dad. He became a pen friend. I was in Estonia and found it confusing how to find my guest house because lots of roads weren't named. My toddler son was just over one year old at the time. A wheel came off his pushchair and then it broke. A stranger came out of her house to help us. I had to ask a local mother where would sell new pushchairs. Some strangers can be kind. A few strangers can be dangerous

I've never been afraid to ask for help from a stranger. Usually people will help if they can, and are glad to do so. I think it makes people feel good to know that they have done their best to help someone.

I always ask strangers for help in a different city. I do try to find the person that seems most friendly, though. I always try to ask employee’s because I figure they live in the area so they’ll know better than anyone. Plus, if it’s a highly tour area I think employees kind of expect the questions.
