... even though they live far apart from each world, at both ends... I'm just curious if they have a universal language like "english" in our part. I wonder if cats from america can understand the ones from asia, lol... just a silly question...

I believe in this, we can speak a lot through our physical gestures, expressions and emotions, to convey something, without using a verbal medium. SO then why can't animals do the same. Physicality is the Universal Language that these animals tend to use. Unless, we were all John Dolittle's, where you're able to understand what the animals are trying to SAY!! Hah Ha!! Wouldn't that be something worth seeing??!!

i do agree with DanBen... there are sort of gestures and expression understood by animals. it need not be the same kind of animals, even different animals like a cat and dog can also understand each other through gestures.

Danny, our difference in language originated from the Tower of Babel; if you're familiar with this you'll remember that there used to be only one language in the world until one egotistic man tried to build a tower that will reach the heaven and God punished them by having all of them speak different languages and there's a sudden clamor and those small groups speaking the same language traveled in groups and they left the tower. At that point I believe it only happened with humans and not with animals. And since there's no solid evidence to support the idea that animals speak to each other like those of disney, it remains a question, coz they definitely make sounds and somehow they use them... I have 4 pets and eventhough they're cats and dogs they seem to communicate although one is barking and the other is meowing... lol... I just wonder if they can understand the ones from other place... lol... its just a silly question... lol

I think all animals understand each other and mostly by instinct and movements, chemicals and also by gestures and some type of verbal communication. Because of no developed speech and language of different animals I think they can understand and communicate irrespective of whether they're from Europe or Saudi Arabia.

Physical gestures is really a universal language to humans and animals... but they also produce sounds. I just wonder if those sounds vibe with each other. I mean if a cat from US meows, i wonder if a cat from Asia will ever respond with a meow too... I have 4 cats at home and they communicate with each other and each of them meows when they see their foe... lol

I think they have their way to communicating each other. Just like human being, the animals also have their own language. But since we are not the animals, so we can't understand their language. On some situations, human can be communicate with an animals by just body language or expressions. I think that is the universal language for every creatures. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

i dont think so.i think a cat from us wont understand a cat from asia, the live in different place, how can the language be developed?i believe in science,we can not prove they have some connection in daily,so they wont know the languages others speaks.just like too glass of water.they are in the different cup,how can they be mix?

I agree with this theory... coz my grandfather once bought a cat from canada and he gave it to my mom as gift but he doesn't mingle with our own cats. He's aloof and always isolates himself from the others.
