Ok, anyone else disappointed by this? So many little things they just plain screwed up on. Deadpool - what they did to him is deplorable, a half decent sarcastic character from the comics turns into a mouth sewn shut revived dead guy with adamant swords that somehow come out of his arms. Is he Deadpool or not? I am not really a huge Deadpool fan, but they just didn't capture him, I would have thought with Ryan Reynolds playing the roll they'd be able to do it justice, they failed. Hopefully they correct this for the supposed upcoming Deadpool movie. Gambit - Damn it all Gambit is an easy character to put into a movie, don't just throw him in there without even attempting to work him into the storyline so you'll get more Xmen fans, it just annoys us. And Gambit has a French accent people, where was the accent? I mean when he comes in and destroys the concrete about to fall on Logan turns and says "did ya miss me?", this is a classic Gambit move, very well done, but without a Cajun accent on it, its not right. The actor that played him had the look down pretty good, even the attitude was right, but he needs that Cajun accent to truly be Gambit. Sabretooth - ok for the most part they did a good job of him at the beginning, but he should have become more primal at the end. So many small issues they just didn't get quite right. A movie focused on Wolverine had so much promise, but they dropped the ball. Oh I'll still see it again, I'll probably buy the DVD and watch it several times, but it just didn't meet my expectations.

I agree with these points you've said here and what I wish most of all is that they had of made the movie more sinister. Gambit also seemed somewhat comical to me which wasn't right at all in my opinion. Yes he looked the part, but aside from the accent, there was something else missing. I enjoyed the movie overall, but I do feel that a darker look and feel could have made a lot of difference. I felt the same way when I watched Quantum of Solace.

This is the thing, Hugh Jackman had the rage down pat with his facial expressions and overall portrayal I reckon, but the rest of the movie just didn't keep up on that level so he ended up understated. I love how they went dark with Batman for example, but they missed it with this one and this is a storyline that desperately needed that angle.

Oh ya, Jackman did a wonderful job on Wolverine... I think he's a good fit for the role, beyond being too tall for it, but that's a nit picking critique. But despite capturing the wolverine spirit, there was no scenes in which he really went into a berserker rage beyond the first few minutes of the movie when he was a kid. Again its the screenwriters who missed the boat. Even in the war scenes it seemed to be Sabretooth doing the raging and Wolverine just watching his back.

But Gabit is a comical character... he's a prankster and a troublemaker, its good... but I know what you mean, the Gambit they made was more cartoonish and less funny. A darker feel to the movie would have made a difference. I mean its a movie about Wolverine, one of the darkest of the "good guy" Xmen. Where was the rage?

Oh I agree with you completely....i saw the movie last monday and was skeptical at first but the movie was a tease and at times would get my hopes up, for instance when they first had Gambit he did a pretty good accent when he is at the card table, but after that the accent changes completely and at times there is no accent! i mean cmon even from a non-xmen comic fan thats just dumbfounding that the directors would let that slide.....and i agree about Sabertooth, once seeing it i was actually turned in my belief that Liev Schrieber couldnt pull it off but i think it was the screenwriters who dropped the ball,,,,,Sabertooth is psychotic and crazy, they didnt pull that off though.......if it coulda been R rated then they might havehad more possibilites but unfortunately I only gave the move a 5 out of 10

Ya there was an accent at the table, but with the way things went it seemed like it was put on for the card players and to "hide" who he was. They should have done it in reverse, no accent at the card table, then accent for the rest. And damn it he should have said "mon ami" at least once LOL. I though Liev Schrieber was a good choice really, he pulled off the back story of Sabretooth quite well, but ya the screenwriters really dropped the ball by not making sabretooth more wild nearer the end.

But the walking around and growling is more in line with Sabretooths personality. As for Gambit's accent, for shame, how could you NOT notice that... it was just downright wrong.

I didn't even notice Gambits missing accent. LOL. Sabertooth was cool. At least he had a chance to speak unlike in the 1st x-men movie where all he did was walk around and growl at people.

Nope I absolutley loved this movie and thought it was great and the best xmen movie of the series. Sure I had some problems with this movie like everyone else did like I dont like what they did with that guy with the swords thought they could of made him much cooler. And dont know why wolverine still had a grudge agasnt sabertooh since he didnt actually kill his girlfriend. So why still hold on to the grudge. But even though this movie could of been better it was still awsome hopefully theyll make an orgins movie about magnito and charles xavior and how they were friends then became enemys wich would be awsome to see.

The guy with the swords was Deadpool, and ya they botched him. As for the Sabretooth grudge, it was Sabretooth who held on to the grudge, not the other way around, and besides that he was willing to pull a ruse like that on Wolverine, his brother, was low on its own. There is supposed to be a Xmen Origins: Magnito movie, I really hope they do it. Magnito is probably the coolest comic book "villian" there is.

@ MYRRDIN: I can't wait for the second installment of the X-MEN ORIGINS. I did hear from my friend that Magneto is next. When I was little girl... I used to watch X-MEN (the cartoons) with my brother, and I used to have this huge crush on Magneto. Hahahaha. I don't care if he is a villain. He is just to die for! @ ARCIDY: I also loved the movie :) My friends didn't like it. Oh well. Did you get to see that unedited version that was released? Or more like.. leaked!

russso: I too love magntio, but not as in have a crush thats for sure LOL... the great thing about Magnito is he isn't really a bad guy, just a guy who went a little too far with his mutant freedom agenda. He's all about protecting mutants from the government, and sometimes it makes him cross the line. He views normal humans as not much better than Nazis for ostracizing or outright hunting down mutants.

I like the effect of the film but I'm disappointed of the endings. Wolverine lost his memory so he can't remember his girlfriend. How sad his love story and never have time to say goodbye to his girlfriend. It has a lot of actions and now I know how they discover by Professor X. I hope there is another sequel of X-men. I'm an avid fun of X-men cartoons when I was younger.

Exactly, there has always been much of Wolverine's past that he cannot remember. His story has always been slightly tragic. Its kind of how the Marvel Universe works. The heroes aren't quite hero's, many of them are anti-heroes, most of the villians are truly bad guys either, but rather just a little more militant than the good guys.

@ AGV0419: That wasn't something that the writer just put. If you'd recall, there is a part in the X-MEN Series wherein Professor X was helping Wolverine remember his memory -- this part in the movie of X-MEN ORIGINS: Wolverine, explains why Wolverine lost his memory :)

I think it is an ok movie. Good for popcorn movie, but not as great as the original trilogy of X-Men. Especially in final 30 minutes, I feel the special effect was very lame. It looked fake and not convincing. Ryan Reynolds will return in another X-Men spinoff, which will due in 2011. I like all the characters in the movie, but I also think the movie dose not do any justice to explore the character to explore them, except maybe the character played by will.i.am. I am waiting Star Trek to play here (which released in June in my country), based on critic consensus it seems to be a really successful reboot of the franchise, hopefully it met my expectation.

Movie adaptations doesnt always capture the comic versions, because it is costly, time consuming. Regarding Deadpools antics, I have yet to see the movie, He should be a motormouth. If he isnt like that then what the hell did they do to one of my favourite characters!? Oh well. I'll wait and see.
