What do you think of churches that ban hand holding and kissing among teens?

ok so if your not a church goer just pretend you are and you have teenage kids that are in the youth group.. the youth group has a lot of activities that your kids go to and of course being teens they want to date or are dating etc.. but this church will absolutely kick them out if they are ever caught holding hands or kissing and its witness by a church goer..
obviously its disrespectful for your teen to kiss in church but to be kicked out if a church goer sees them kissing or holding hands on a date away from church??
this has nothing to do with my other post on a teen being threated with suspension from his christian school over going to prom but this is actually based on a church i knew a friend that went to while I was growing up.. needless to say i didnt go there lol..
if anything i would think they should be ok with hand holding since its NOT something else they could be doing and i think hand holding is innocent.. heck we hold hands to pray in a circle right?? and to think that anyone in the church could just go up to the pastor and turn you in just seems so wrong to me.. there are always types that like to spread some ones doing something that they arent (or are)
would you take your teens to a church (if you went to a church) that was this strict? would you be ok if you kid got kicked out of a church just for holding hands at the mall or something?

I do not think I could go to a church which would kick my children out just for holding hands. Limits should be taught at home. Really it's also a matter of respect and honor. Those must be taught at home not simply legislated by a church.
That's a new one for me and I thought I'd seen about everything!

Wow, not allowing hand holding in Church? I guess that in my opinion is going a little overboard, and especially now in 2009 could lead to a lot of rebellion and problems as well. I know that they are trying to promote morality, and clean living but there needs to be a line drawn as well. I guess if it was me, and I had teenagers I would have a hard time attending a church like that. With something like this there needs to be more balance for sure.

yeah to me it will just lead to more problems in the future because the kids were so held back that they cut loose and go hog wild later

Holding hands in my opinion is definitely overkill. A light peck on the cheek (or even the lips) would also be OK, but not tongue tag. I think public displays of tongue manipulation (by ANY one) should be done in private and not in public. But of course that is only my opinion.
I heard some groups do not allow dancing, for EVERYONE (except maybe for married couples in the privacy of their homes). When one becomes a member of any group, if the leaders have specifications for membership, then the rules should be followed.
It's a pity most teens do not have a say in what church to go to.

So they must expect the kids to be perfect? I don't see anything wrong with hand holding or kissing.....especially with teens.....they have high emotions....at least they are not behind the alter doing something worse....if a church kicked me out for something like that then it would be a very good day in my life....true christians teach love...

if anything it will make them repress stuff and then they will end up being those sad cases of getting into trouble because they just cut loose one day and dont protect themselves and end up with kids or something

If I found out I was in a church like that I would get out quick! and I would make sure the point out to them on my way out the door that Jesus loves my child reguardless of whether they hold hands or smooch or even have premarial relations.
Hes Faithful to forgive our sins and clense us from all unrighteousness. Thats what the bible says but some churches can't seem to grasp the concept. Oh and just to make myself clear I think handholding and kissing is perfectly fine. So long as they are not playing tongue hockey. :-P
