when i was i college we have music class.I was excited about it because i love music. i thought we're going to sing but instead our teacher told us to keep quite and listen. so we sat, while she was preparing.... my self was prepared to listen to music.... pop, disco, reggae and love songs... but then!!!!! oh my! we where shock! my professor played classical music which i never heard before...she discuss it(the composer, the year it was made, the tempo, tonality etc.)we were like this for a long time.... some of my classmates dropped out from that subject because they cant stand it anymore.... they said their ears are going to bleed when they hear another classical music... though we are some what like force to listen, i still thank my college prof. for making me listen to it... now, have you ever experience this kind of situation?did you appreciate classical music? or do you like classical music?

By the grace of G-d , i never had that type of class, I would have never liked classical music. Instead , I heard my first classical music piece when I was about 6. It was a record of Peter and The wolf.Peter was played by the strings. so when I was 9 , I picked the vilon. I played in orchestras until 18. I love classical music. My problem is whenever I hear a piece I played, I am more of a critique than a ral listener. Thankfully , there are many other pieces where I can just sit back and listen. These days it is chopin that I love. Do you have a favorite composer?

Speaking of Vivaldi, I was responding to a newbie and he or she, I can't tell from usernames, wanted to know what classical music to listen to and I listed a few but I forgot Vivaldi. I played spring and Winter when I was in highschool,He is tricky but beautiful,

I love some parts of all kinds of music, including some of the classical sort. It is not my favorite, however.

I love Mozart. He could have made rap sound good. I took a music appreciation in high school and most of it was classical. Instead of fighting it the class should have listened, really listened because the basis of all music is there.
On the other hand you should have also been exposed to jazz, soul, rhythm and blues and other music. Music is a wonderful thing!

Yes I can understand that it is like pulling and grabbing and forcing to listen something you don't want to listen.
Everyone has different choice to listen music your school might have classical choice because it is an educational institution and you can't expect something you have mention. In most of the educational institutions you might find classical music or some prayers and a very basic thing of what you have mentioned that too is a rare thing.
We used to have some prayer in our first period.

Hi, Bhabytart!
My parents loved all sorts of music, so they took me to concerts often, and there was almost always music playing somewhere in the house. From that, I learned to cherish music of virtually every type -- I've never found a genre I didn't like. To me, classical music is the perfect background sound when friends gather at my house, or during dinner. Conversations seem sweeter against a classical background.

Oh, wow! thanks for telling me that. Am glad to know that i wasn't the only person in the world who was forced to listen too much classical music. believe me, it really gives me night mares and day dreams as well.but i had to pass the subjects since it was high school. we were even asked to record a music of the alma matter and translate it into english
.what a winch! i thought i was a bout to give up there.

I would like to listen classical music, some of famous musicians' I am familiar more such as Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, etc. especially at night I listen before sleep, it can asleep more faster. Some song I also like to listen but don't know the author
such as Blue Danube. I also like Liangshanpo Lovers, but I don't know if it can look as the classical music.
