Abortion. Do they consider God?

Before a woman decides to go for an abortion, she will approach all of the information available on the matter. This requires a very intimate thinking, for an important decision in life that could lead to an emotional trauma. Which means that they will decide following their heart, and not the right mind. There's too many for them to consider. Abortion? Raising the baby? "Could I provide the baby well physically and emotionally? Will I be a good mother? Am I really ready to do this? " Or allowing another family to adopt the baby? In considering all these, has any of these ladies consider God? Or does any one of them know what God have to offer them? Didn't God say "do not kill" ? And that "He will lift her up, meet her needs and her baby's need, if she will let Him be her God". No matter what religious believe we all have, I'm still wondering. Does God comes into consideration when deciding this? Should or should not it be that way?

If "God" will lift up the mother and child then why hasn't he lifted my mother and me and met our needs?

.." If she makes Him her God".. We all do not have the right to question God. So, question our selves first, whether we have been fair towards Him.

I know a foreign worker who got pregnant twice and have to let go both time. I asked her why she did what she did. She said she comes from a poor family who have to share a house with other family members and then got evicted so they live in another family house but so many arguments, dissagreements, also too many people living in the same house so the house owner feels that there's no privacy, too congested, etc. She couldn't stand to see the sadness in her parents that she decided to take an agent's offer to work in another country. She made a vow to not leaving the country until she bought a house and a car for the family. So, in this country she worked so hard and do whatever she is required to do to earn a living. Along the way, she got pregnant, twice. She has to let it go because the man is not taking responsibility towards it and she did not want to be sent back to her country because of her vow also did not want to add problems to her family. So she did it.

Thank you for sharing with me about this story. i am so sorry for this particular lady. by ur story, it shows that she is a very strong woman. That is a very strong reason to resort for abortion. and she's not the only one. Many of them result to it because of this. But as my discussion says: Do they consider god" ? in making the decision, she considered a lot of things, like family and her promise. but is there some part for god? ;)

Religion can guide a person but I don't think many ladies or girls considering having an abortion think about God. Abortion is illegal in some countries like Malta, for example, probably because of the Roman Catholic lifestyle. In the early stages of pregnancy the hormonal changes might mean a lady feels emotional. At around four weeks pregnancy she might feel different to normal and have some pregnancy symptoms. If she really doesn't wish to be pregnant the positive result of a home pregnancy test could horrify her. At around six to nine weeks pregnant a lady might suffer from sickness and feel tired. After twelve weeks pregnant the lady could begin getting a bump, certainly she will by sixteen weeks pregnant. A lady might tell her boyfriend and her family that she is pregnant. She will have to make her mind up if she is having an abortion, keeping her baby or having her baby adopted to a caring couple. She will consider if keeping her baby is a possibility and in some circumstances that would be challenging. Therefore I wish the ladies choose to have their baby adopted then the child can survive. If religious I think God should have a bearing on a lady's choice. I am pro-life and that is about morally.

I do agree with you. But i think that they should always consider god when it comes to this. I too wish that they choose to have their baby adopted, giving it the right to life.

There are other factors to consider, too... I used to think this way, but there are certain times where abortion is absolutely necessary. Some women aren't healthy enough to have a child. So, the only way they can survive is if they get an abortion, or the childbirth will kill them. It's a matter of the needs of the many versus the needs of the few. The woman should survive, she has more to loose than the unborn infant.

yeah. you are absolutely right. If it endangers and risk the life of the mother, then it is an exception right? You're allowed to do it in that very difficult particular situation. What about others? thats keeping me wondering.
