Christianity is based in love. It is possible because of love. If God did not love His creation, He would not have sent the Christ to be a sacrifice for all of those who would accept it. God does this so we can be with Him. When you love someone, you desire their company. Too many people take extremist positions, forgetting that while they have now discovered God's love for them, it doesn't make them any better than anyone else. God loves all, and we all need that love. Because something is good, it does not mean that some people will not appropriate it and try to use it for evil.

Like all religions it is based on something good, in this case love. But, as with all religions some people make a mess of things. That is the reason Christianity has such a bad reputation amongst so many people. Some misinterpret the Bible and make it say what it does not. I can say many wrong things and prove it by aranging certain Scripture verses in a certain order and then say something that sounds very convincing. People have done this to prove many things to be from God, example rasism, false Christian laws, etc. So-called Christians in the middle ages used these Scripture manupilation to kill others who believed the basic message of love that the Bible teaches.
