Why are some people so scared of change? When we give it some thought, we soon realize that change is the natural order of things and not something that we should resist. We live in a time of enormous upheaval on a global scale, and more and more people are seeing huge changes in their personal lives as well. It is the nature of the world in which we live and we must learn to move with grace in the face of these changes, for every change brings us an incredible opportunity for growth. Breathe, relax, and know with confidence that all things will work out for the best, even though we may not see it at at the moment. Are you afraid of change?

There's a saying that sounds like this: Everything in this world changes, except change itself. I find this phrase really cool and it really means it. Change is the thing in this world that we cannot resist. Changes are happening everywhere, and in every second, and in every person. However, that's one of the nature of all beings that some people don't like changes. In the scientific term, we called it inertia. It means the resistance to change. For me, sometimes i find myself a bit hard to accept sudden changes in life or the environment i live in. I need time to adopt to changes and accept it. I may show reject or resistance to the change at first, but after some time i'll get used to it, and this is in the condition that the change is a good one.

Hi Mirita, Thank you for commenting. I have found that the divine wisdom that governs all things always has a plan. Where we believe that change is for the worse, history may look back and understand why it had to be. It's very difficult to understand sometimes but we do not see things with the wisdom of eternity. Blessings.

I look at change as a part of life, and when one door closes another one opens, usually to somthing better. I am one to take changes head on. I went through a break-up in January, moved to another state in February, temporarily. Met up with an old friend, and found that there had been feelings there all along.......now, planning a wedding for September, moving back to my home state, and stayin with my same job just a different state.....wildland firefighter. So changes happen, it's just all in the attitude you have.

yeah I am afraid of change but if change is for better than I am not afraid. Since change and change for better are two different thing. Bad change can end the universe . I am afraid of such type change. change which can maintain the status of universe, which is good for everyone. who will be afraid of change. It can explain by simple example of nuclear energy same nuclear energy is use for making bombs then everyone will afraid of that change, if nuclear energy use for generating fuel, electricity since this change is for better everyone will accept this.

Hi chandanoct, Thank you for commenting. Sometimes we all get too comfortable and don't want to experience change. It is however, is both inevitable and necessary. We must try to be optimistic and always expect the best. Blessings.

Knowing that change is the only constant that we can see in this world we should welcome it. Though as the psychology of human nature shows we don't welcome change....but at the end of the day we should face the truth and should be prepare for changes...whatever that may be.....

As far as I'm concern Pose, you are making sense :). Change shouldn't be looked at as some kind on a nuisance but rather a challenge, an opportunity for growth and a way of learning. But I cannot fault people who are afraid of change... for in familiarity, there is security. A sense of belongingness that might be disrupted by something new. I think it's self preservation that makes people afraid of change.

Hi maeras, Thank you for commenting and I agree. It is often difficult to move out of one's comfort zone and I don't fault those who find change difficult. Change however comes to everyone and then we must accept it and know it has it's purpose. Blessings.

I am very scared of change. I tend to "stay with the devil I know" rather than the risk of the unknown and and scared of change. I have stayed in bad situations and relationships because I was scared of what the change would be. Though I have eventually made the changes and once I did I was way better off for it. I wish I was braver to make changes that would help my family out instead of staying in bad situations.

Hi vicki, Change must come eventually but as you say it's easy to put off and stay where we are for the moment. When change comes we must embrace it and things will be better, if not we must change again. Blessings.

Resisting change is a basic survival technique. Think of it in evolutionary terms. You have figured out how to survive quite nicely with things as they are - you have food, shelter and are able to live fairly comfortably. Change forces adaptation or movement. Either could be a threat to your survival. Change is inevitable and man has learned well how to adapt to changes and find ways of overcoming the obstacles that can result from change. But it's not easy so it's not surprising that we are not comfortable with changes. So change could be dangerous, but not to adapt to it is more dangerous. So my motto is: Resist Change and Adapt Quickly

I know that change is a big part of this world but I personally am not that keen on serious change. I like to know where I stand, I like to feel a sense of security and that doesn't come from regular change. I'm starting to see things the way you do though. I do realise that change is essential at times and that nothing can be done about it. I guess there are a number of learning experiences to be had from change. I do try to remain optimistic now about the way things are going! Andrew

Hi Andrew, Thanks for commenting. It is natural for everyone to want to stay within their comfort zone sometimes, we all have those times. Change of course is inevitable but also very necessary for learning and growth. I am pleased that you are optimistic, it's the only way to live. Blessings.

yup, sometimes I am afraid of change. You are right.Change make us improving .But people have emotion. Maybe sometimes people are relctant to give up something which belongs to them for a long time. They don't want to say goodbye to the old one and adapt new one. But like you says, I must adapt to change.Only we change,we will be better.

I used to be. But today, no, not at all. I'm more afraid that things will remain constant and nothing's going to change coz that means no one is going to grow and that I will not learn anything new. Change can be scary but once you overcome it and get at eased with it, its a good feeling and you'll be glad you've made that decision. Human beings have a great capacity to adapt so there's no reason for you to worry, rest assured, you'll be fine.

Hello, I think change is a great thing, it helps you deal with things in life more better in my opinion. When you are not afraid of change you don't worry about being faced with things that are not some comfortable to you, and yes in life we are sometimes faced with these kind of issues, so I'm all for change, don't get me wrong somethings in life you can be very content with, without change having to take place. Happy My Lotting!

Depending on the type of change their could be two types of changes: a bad change or a good change. But,No Iam not afraid of change. sometimes change is best if its going to improve your life and surrounding, Even though change can sometimes be scary you gotta look at the outcome of the change for the better.

It is said that ‘change’ is the only thing that is constant the world over. I’m not afraid of change coz change is that ingredient which adds the ultimate flavour to our lives. Nothing over a prolonged period of time interests us anymore. We need change to be constantly on our toes, to look forward to each new day, to go forward and meet the future head-on in anticipation of change…good times change to bad and bad times surely change to good. If this were not true, we would be forever in fear of the unknown and spend our days in futile plans of insulating our future while not enjoying the present for what it is.

for the most part no....I usually am someone who is flexible.....and I have learned to live with alot of change. My kids are the most important thing in my life. I have adjusted to my daughters living far away from me....but my son is my baby and my little granddaughter is my buddy.....if they decided to move that would be a very hard thing to accept.....but in other ways...change is good. Keeps life interesting!

Sometimes I am, and sometimes I'm not. Change is inevitable, yes...I know it. But, I can't help myself from fearing things that I'm not really used to. Anyway, as soon as changes happens, I easily adapt to it. There has been too many changes that happened in my life and I learned to accept them eventually, bit by bit.

I love change as long as its for the better. I am all about trying new things and doing things differently. My husband is one of those people who don't like change. I can't even cut my hair or dye it different colors without him asking why I did that. Grrr... He will make it sound better by saying "I love you the way you are, you don't have to change"...But I do it because I want a change!!

Peole afraid of change because changes bring both opportunities and problems at the same time. So it is depend on what kind of change people are facing. But for me, I love change. I once have the chance to decide if accept a change when I was in high school. My parents worked in different cities and I lived with one of them. I lived with my mom at the beginning and after the first year study in high school, my dad asked me if I want to move to the bigger and more developed city where he works. New city really attract me but I know I will have to adapt the new environment if I want to change. I will have new classmates, I will need to live in school dormitory and go home once a week instead of everyday. But actually, I dicide to move immediately and I get on very well with new classmates and roommates and have a lot of new good friend. My life is much interesting than before. Now, whenever I recollect I consider it is one of the most important right decisions in life I have made. So I do not scared of change. If people know how to deal with the new situation when changes happen, they will never afraid of it.

'change' is something necessary to made u success in ur life.'change' can be in both ways, positive or negative.I'm not affraid of 'change' because I wan to become a successer.I'm living in a traditional family where everything need to listen to my parents n all my things were decide by them.I knew I can't keep on tat way,if I continue to let this thing happen,I wouldn't be able to decide things in my life when I grow up.so,I started to change,no matter my parents will get angry or not.n now I've prove to them tat I can decide it n my parents had accept my decision.
