Mother's Day

What did you do for Mother's Day? Did you go anyplace special? Get flowers? Gifts? I am curious because I am not a mom and mine is gone so I like to hear what others did today!

To start off with my husband cooked me breakfast and served it to me in bed this morning. we had bacon, and eggs, and biscuits and gravy....And it was wonderful. All my kids have called, and i got to talk to all my grand kids too. (they all live to far for a visit.) My one son lives close by...and he got me 4 chickens----Now i about 5 months i'm going to have all the fresh eggs that i can handle. (i was thinking about getting some chickens, so now i don't have to i already have them.) and later he is going to take me and my husband out to dinner.

That was wonderful....you had and will contiue to have a great day! I had to check your profile, when you said biscuits and gravy I just knew you were in TN...and I was right. I am too. We don't have any relatives here, they are all up north. Chickens, this may sound stupid, but don't you need a rooster too? Nice meeting you and hope you enjoy your dinner!

Yes im in Tennessee, we moved here about 6 years ago, most of my kids and parents live in Ohio, way up by lake Erie. As for the roosters, my neighbors have plenty of them that are running around. but i do not want the eggs fertilized. I am just learning that is why he just started me off with a few.

We are from New Jersey!!! Been in TN since 01. I'm not sure where your town is located. I know I've heard of it, but can't figure out where. I asked my husband about the chickens...his mom had chickens for years and years and he told me you only need the roster to make babies...I didn't know chickens lay eggs just for the heck of it! I'm a city girl living in the country...help!!! Is that a wedding photo? We have only been marrried 11 years. Second for both of us.

For the most part I spent the day in bed, the kids and husband made me breakfast and then later today cookies. They gave me gifts they made at school and a card that myu husband got me with a spa gift card in it.. yea spa day.

I just call my mom and greeted her. I gave her a cash gift so that she can buy whatever she wants on this very special day. She also go out with my other siblings on this day.

I stayed here with my son. He is recovering from a car accident. I have been staying with him since November. So I didn't really go anywhere for Mother's Day. No one came to see me and I did not get any gifts. I got "Mother's Day" greetings from several people via email, facebook, and phone calls. I am just glad to be able to be with my son... it could have been much different!

You had the best gift of all, you were with your son. I keep yelling at the dog, she didn't buy me anything!
