Is Bret Favre Becoming A Joke?

I live in Wisconsin where majorities of the population are Green Bay Packer and Bret Favre fans. After he came out of retirement to play for the Jets some people were irked by it some didn’t care. Now there are big rumors that Bret will be coming out of retirement, again, to play for the Minnesota Vikings (one of the Packer’s rivals). At this point I think Bret Favre’s just becoming a joke. Retiring then coming out of retirement months later is really tarnishing his image. I’ve never been one of these people who think Bret Favre is a football God, though he is an excellent player. As of late I think he’s come off as real self centered an arrogant. Am I alone? Am I the only who thinks Bret Favre is just becoming a joke and tarnishing his own image?

No you are not alone! I think Brett Favre has become a joke! I also agree he has become arrogant and self centered! I'm from Wisconsin, too! I'm a Green Bay Packer fan and wish this Brett Favre soap opera would end! I know a few people who would love to see Favre return and play for the Vikings! I don't! Then there is one women I know who can't stand Brett Favre! She never has liked him and will not tell anyone why she hates Favre's guts! I do know this women believes everything she reads or hears about Favre! She is relentless on this subject when she gets on it and people(like me) get very pissed! I work with her and I try not talking her at all the past few days so she doesn't start in again! I just wish this Brett Favre crap would end soon! I don't want to see the Green Bay Packers tarnished anymore!

I’ve always heard stories about Bret Favre being a jerk, even when he was a Packer. I had is a sales person for a well known maid service. She was giving a quote to a gentleman who used to play with Bret and he told her Bret was an arrogant jerk who never did anything for the Packer fans. The only charity he did was for HIS foundations. Of course it’s all hearsay so who knows how true it really is but I don’t have a hard time believing. If Bret Favre does play for the Vikings I would love nothing more than to hear him get booed out of Lambue Field when he takes the field.

Very well said!!! Other than, I don't know anyone who wants to see him play anywhere at this point. And I'm from Ohio. But, yes it has become a soap opera! I think he should stay retired, let his body heal and go on with his life.

I'm not sure how much this whole soap opera will tarnish Brett's legacy. Michael Jordan retired and came back twice, but everybody remembers him as the greatest basketball player of all time. in the short term, I think people are just tired of all of the drama. In the long term I believe people will remember him as a great football player and one of the greatest Packers of all time. However, I too am tired of all of the flip-flopping, now I want to retire, now I want to play, now I want to retire, now I want to play. It's getting pretty old. I wish he would just stay retired, and hold onto his dignity.
