You can have a computer and no land line if you have cable internet. I used to have this but not anymore because we now have satellite tv instead of cable. I have a landline because that is how I connect to the internet, through dial-up as highspeed isn't in the country where I live. We don't use cellphones in this house as they are a way for people to get ahold of me when I am rather busy doing things of my own purpose! If I am home then call me, not when I am driving down the road, grocery shopping or whatever whatnot.

Still use landline. I used cellphone for my personal use but for example on television shopping, you cant buy without a home telephone. Its a requirement.

I still have a land line but hardly use it. I use it mostly for business type calls or to call someone who I don't have a cell phone number for. But to call my kids, I usually use the cell phone.

I do have both - landline and cellphone.. If I don't have enough credits for my cellphone, I usually use my landline to call someone.

Yes, I do have both landline and cellphone line because landline cost is cheaper when doing longer calls.

generally, most homes have their landlines. In our home, we do keep a landline. It is still very practical to have one at home, aside from being less expensive.Nowadays, most landline companies offers a landline that you can carry around the city, it's range is limited to certain areas but it serves it's purpose. this is targetted to people who lives alone, so they can bring their mobile landline service with them.

i do have a landline at home. sometimes i use it to call people too, although rarely now since i use my mobile instead. our broadband connection that we subscribe to few years back requires us to have a landline with them

I have a landline for a couple of reasons. The main reason being that I have long conversations with my best friend up north...over an hour at a time...and my cell phone not only gets hot and is less comfortable, the battery would probably die. I also have DSL and unlimited long distance at a cheaper rate than unlimited cell usage.

Yes, we still have our landline phone here because it's cheaper to call from city to city than to use our cellphones. Besides, our DSL internet relies on our landline phone. I think it's best to keep our landline phone just in case of emergency because it's fail safe compared to mobile phones. Plus, the calls on landline phones are unlimited so i can chat with old friends.

Everyone in my family has a cell phone but we also have a land line. But it is the Magic Jack, you know, the one that cost $20 a year to have in your home. I think it is perfect. For family and friends who do not use the same carrier I do for cell service I use my land line to contact them on their land line. I prefer to only call people who have my carrier also, that way my minutes aren't used up.

We still have a land line for our internet and emergency purposes. Sometimes cell phone signals are not that reliable.

I still have a landline, I do know a few people who are relying on their mobile phones but they have said a lot of people don't like ringing them as it is more expensive to ring mobile phones...
