We do have Mother's Day and we also have Victoria Day at the end of the month, that is to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday and is also the start of our planting season. That is the only holidays we have. There used to be May 1st, which is sort of an unofficial holiday, but no one celebrates that any more.

You're welcome. I would not mind us having a Parent's Day here. And thanks for the best response.

Hi marketing, it’s true that there are lots of holidays in my place as well, thought there are rather different to those in your place. Besides the first day of May, Labor Day, we celebrate Vesak Day which falls on the 9th of May. We celebrate mother’s day on Sunday. The children and their teacher will celebrate teachers’ day on this coming Friday. We are going to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival on the 28th of May. It’s on the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese lunar calendar. Every Chinese family will prepare a pyramid shaped dumpling using glutinous rice and other delicious gradients like meats, beans, mushrooms and etc wrapped in bamboo leaves. The dry bamboo leaves are imported from china as we don’t have such big sized bamboo leaves here. We usually would prepare the dumplings a couple days before the festival. Happy posting!
