are new songs lacking the beauty and clarity,found in old songs???now,the instruments play a more pronounced role than the song.......

I think it all depends on the song, some ones songs are not that good to me while others I like. Same goes with music today some I like and some I don't. Sometimes I like a lot of production on a song and sometime I like it scaled down.
With me it depends on my mood.

It really depends on the person and what kind of music you listen to.
Personally, I think the music played on the instruments is very important to a song as it sort of gives an emotional feel. It's sort of like you can grasp the feeling of the song without even knowing the lyrics.
