Pakistan is great for tourism (of course not that great now a days becasue of the present mini war situation in the north). Pakistan has great places to visit. There are beautiful valleys, lakes, mountains , etc. You might have heard of K2 (World's 2nd largest mountain is in Pakistan). Five out out 14 highest peaks are in Pakistan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mountains_in_Pakistan There are hundreds of beautiful lakes in Pakistan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_lakes_in_Pakistan World's 7 largest glaciours are in Pakistan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_glaciers_of_Pakistan Information on pakistan beaches: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Beaches_of_Pakistan There are many travel operators in pakistan. http://www.cybercity-online.net/Tours_Operators_in_Pakistan.html Many world's major airlines operate in Pakistan. PIA is pakistan's offical airline. Other airlines include Air blue, Shaheen air. Air fair (direct, return) from UK to pakistan is approx 650-700 US$. and from USA approx US$ 1200. People willing to travel to Pakistan in summer must note that in some cities of Pakistan the temperature rises up to 48 C but at same time, there are some towns where temperature remains under 25C like murree, nathiagali, etc, etc. In winters, the temperature goes down -8C in some cities in north and even in Quetta up to -5C. The capital city Islamabad also gets temperatures lower than 1C sometimes. National travel companies in pakistan are many. Most commonly used are: Sammi Daewoo (http://www.sammi.com.pk/), Pakistan railways (pakrail.com), etc Pakistan's official tourism website: http://www.tourism.gov.pk/Index.html More about pakistan travel http://wikitravel.org/en/Pakistan

Traveling is my top hobby and so far in my life I have been to more than 50 different countries. I have been to Asia on a few of my trips. If it is safe to do so one day I would like to travel overland from London to Kathmandu. It would involve a train journey through Iran, then Pakistan and into India before reaching Nepal. I am sure My Lot members would like to hear more about Pakistan's tourist sights.
