Obama was suppost to release his healthcare reform bill today. But I can not find it. ANyone seen it? Does this mean sence the Health insurance companies have decided to cut 2 trillion out of their profits by lowering prices and getting rid of the pre-existing condition clause that Obama no longer will push the bill and the 60 billions in new taxes to pay for it. By the way his program was going to cost 1 trillion so he still had a huge short fall. And it looks like the insurance companies plan may work better.
Anyone know what is going on with this?

There is no bill yet, Congress hasn't even started working on it as far as I know. It's the health care industry care industry which includes medical associations and health care providers along with insurance companies that said they'd cut costs, not their profits, by 2 trillion over 10 years. I somehow can't imagine the insurance industry being willing to cut their profits by 2 DOLLARS let alone 2 trillion...lol!

"The industry groups said they would slow the growth of health care costs by 1.5 percent a year by coordinating care, reducing administrative costs and focusing on quality, efficiency and standardization. Health care costs would still grow faster than the economy as a whole, but not as fast as they otherwise would.
The specifics, industry officials said, would come later."
I have a feeling the President as well as most members of Congress know if they give up on health care reform this time they'll be in BIG trouble with the American people. Even "Harry and Louise" know we have a problem now!

But if the health care companies make insurnace more afforable for everyone and get rid of pre-existing conditions clauses (or charging more for htem) than I think will go a long way to fixing the issue don't you?

I think that the insurance companies have vowed to cut down on their costs to consumers. I think that they have some things that are really good in terms of insureance and some things that are not so good. It is important for them to reduce costs to consumers, I think the cost of healthcare will continue to go up in the short term though.

I as well have been searching for it and have seen nothing on it, they said nothing about it on the nightly news either. So I am as disappointed as you are and curious. This is one of the things I have been the most upset and worried about. My children require six hours of therapy a week, with what he said he was going to do with the changes we were going to lose therapy, are at least insurance paid therapy. And I can not afford $1,000.00 a week for therapy that they need. Not to mention my medical problems that require many doctors appointments and often Physical therapy for myself.
Lets hope the insurance companies were able to pull this one off.
