Windows Open Source Software - Pros and Cons

I love using open source software, because I am basically cheap. I also like using products where the source code is open and being shared. I want to here what others think about open source software.

I am not a programer but I love the aspect of open source, it doesnt have to be free, as someone took the time to create it, but with open source someone can go in an look at the code and make changes if they want to.
